About the Director of Philanthropy Opportunity

Our Director of Philanthropy will report to our Executive Director and collaborate closely with our co-founders, board, and Operations Director. You will develop and execute fundraising strategies in service of CHT’s vision, mission, and programs. You will cultivate and manage your own portfolio of donors and also collaborate with and staff the Executive Director and co-founders on the relationships they lead. You will be responsible for leading and managing development functions with an emphasis on major gifts, and to a lesser extent foundation giving.

We are looking for someone who can balance being bold with being realistic, being structured with being nimble, and driving strategy while also overseeing the day-to-day fundraising operations. You will ultimately help us to co-create meaningful funding partnerships towards growing our impact and base annual budget from ~$5M to $12-15M by 2027.

Our funding is almost 100% philanthropy, driven by a mix of individuals (80%) and foundations (20%). We are visible on world stages and have a strong network of donors, collaborators and with strong opportunities for growth.

You will benefit from the support of our Project Manager who currently works 50% of their time to support Development Operations. Over time, we expect this to become a full fundraising hire. You will also have access to contractors (for grant writing, prospect research, etc). Additionally, CHT has a strong executive office function which will help you to leverage them as best as possible.
