POSITION OVERVIEW
Acción Latina seeks a visionary Executive Director, who is bilingual, bicultural, and
committed to social justice. The successful candidate must have community media
experience and be committed to storytelling through cultural arts programming. They will be
charged with effectively strengthening the organization’s award-winning newspaper, its
alliances with other community media partners, its cultural arts programs, and with
increasing its revenue to meet the dramatic challenges facing our Latinx/e/o/a audience.
The Executive Director’s leadership, fundraising, budgeting expertise, and community
insights will build on our current success and infrastructure development. Reporting to the
Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for organizational
management, financial health, and advancing the nonprofit’s mission across media, arts, and
community engagement platforms. Financial security leads to program success and growth;
the successful candidate will have demonstrated fundraising and budgeting expertise and
will collaborate with our external bookkeeper.

growing El Tecolote’s readership
Leadership & Management
inclusive and transparent to lead program excellence by fostering a collaborative
working environment, encouraging professional development, with a track record of
effective delegation skills
the Latinx/e/o/a community’s needs and cultural heritage within approved budgets
supports professional growth and aligns with the organization’s mission
systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals
partners, as well as cultivating relationships to enhance El Tecolote’s visibility and
support
Resource Development & Revenue Strategy
by diversifying income streams through digital initiatives, sponsorships, major donor
cultivation, grant writing, partnerships, events, and earned revenue opportunities
foundations and manage contract grant writers
support its programs
Budget and Financial Management
reporting
approval of the overall annual budget
and utilize a system for timely grant compliance and reporting
financial health and long-term sustainability
financial policies, reporting and tax requirements that ensure alignment with strategic
objectives
properly maintained and meet the basic needs of the organization
Community Engagement & Program Development
that reflect the Latinx/e/o/a community’s needs and cultural heritage
relationships with local organizations, funders, and media

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range is $70,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience. This full-time
position includes health benefits, 13 paid holidays, accrued sick time and up to 15 days of
accrued paid time off with an additional 10 days of holiday paid time off provided by the
organization in December and additional opportunities for professional development.
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday and limited evenings and weekends, in person with the
flexibility to work remotely occasionally
TRAVEL: Occasional travel to local and out of state conferences and convenings
