    Description

    The Director of Finance and Administration reports to the Executive Director and oversees the Administrative Division. The major duties of the Director of Finance and Administration include overseeing the operational and financial aspects of the organization. You will have 2 direct reports, the Senior Project Manager and Volunteer & Project Coordinator.

    This is a full-time, 40-hour per week hybrid/remote position that will be based near the Santa Barbara area. Most work will take place remotely, with travel to Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties as needed. The candidate must be based in California.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Finances

    • Work closely with external Accountant to ensure financial viability for the organization via cashflow oversight and management
    • Review accounts payable, outgoing invoices, project budgets, and ensure receipt of accounts receivable
    • Assist project operations team in budget tracking and estimates for jobs
    • Lead creation of annual budget and assist in audits as needed
    • Collaborate with the Board Finance Committee to offer insight into the organization’s finances

    Human Resources

    • Direct full scope of human resources, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee records management, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines
    • Review and update Employee Handbook, and implement new staff protocols and trainings as necessary
    • Conduct Safety Officer duties including, site inspections, incident reports, update, and implement new, safety manuals and procedures, train staff on safety procedures, and coordinate quarterly Safety Committee and companywide safety meetings
    • Annual review of employee benefits and rates alongside the Executive Director

    General Business Operations

    • Be available to staff as needed and allow flexibility in your day to resolve operational issues as they arise
    • Contribute to and review written reports, grants, and proposals
    • Implement new software to assist with day-to-day operations and optimize workflow
    • Provide full tech support for staff and board
    • Ensure timely renewal of insurances, and licenses, and initiate new policies and licenses as needed
    • Perform miscellaneous office and administrative duties as needed
    • Be involved in, collaborate with, and aware of most, or all, working parts of CIR to assist various divisions

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or other related field
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial role overseeing organizational finances, operations and HR, preferably in a non-profit environment
    • Experience in improving operational systems and managing organizational growth
    • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Experience working with various software such as QuickBooks Online, Microsoft 365, as well as signing and expense software, and the ability to learn other software quickly and provide technical support to staff

    COMPENSATION

    Compensation will be $90,000 to $100,000 annually commensurate with qualifications and experience and can be increased with time and training.
