The Philanthropic Gifts Officer, an integral part of WfWI’s Development team, is responsible for case for support development, stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation for major and mid-level gifts, corporate, and foundation donors at the $1,000 and higher level. The Officer is directly responsible for building and managing a portfolio of donors/prospects and for developing donor engagement/relations strategies consistent with standard moves management operations and populating all relevant information and cultivation steps in Salesforce. Although some research support is available, this role is ultimately responsible for prospect research and monitoring and identifying new areas of opportunity for these major and mid-level gifts. The Officer will also support fundraising events and major/mid-level donor fundraising activities as developed and assigned. And, the Officer will interface and collaborate with the Global Revenue Team for revenue generation and with Communications, Marketing and Programs areas for case, content, creative, digital, and project support.
Engagement
- Collaborate closely with the Development team and the global leadership/revenue team, country staff, and volunteer leadership to ensure consistent donor treatment and complementary activities
- Promotes and ensures the coordination of lead generation and corresponding research to increase donor engagement
- Organizes individual, corporate and foundation donor cultivation events in coordination with the Development team and in collaboration with Communications
- As an active participant, collaborates with the Development team with developing pioneering stewardship techniques to retain and upgrade portfolio donors through enhancing their donor journey and positioning WfWI as their charity of choice
- Coordinates with Marketing to segment digital and offline appeals to portfolio major and mid-level gift donors
- Participates in bi-monthly portfolio meetings with plans for cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of donors, and weekly 1:1 meetings, with the Director of Development
- Regional emphasis as appropriate can be developed as directed by the Director of Development
Delivery
- Responsible for annual fundraising goal of approximately $500,000.
- Manage a personal portfolio of 100+ major donors and 500 select mid-level donors who can give $10,000 or more annually, which include individual, corporate and foundation donors –
- Develops and implements appropriate cultivation and moves management strategies for prospects and major and mid-level donors
- Provides leads generation and assignments in the $20,000+ range for the Associate Director of Development, Executive Director, CEO, and Director of Development
- As a frontline member of the Development team, in partnership with the Director of Development and the Development team, participates in the development of an annual work plan to ensure annual fundraising goals are met/exceeded
- Recommends to the team cultivation, stewardship and solicitation strategies and helps implement/facilitate applicable changes or updates
- Identify donors with major gift potential at the mid-level
- In partnership with the Director of Development, develop a solicitation strategy to increase mid-level portfolio giving in the $5,000 - $10,000 range
- In partnership with the Development team. coordinates the execution of highly curated, intimate US major and mid-level cultivation events for portfolio donors as well as the execution of experiences around WfWI Development/External Engagement led events
- Maintains a high level of awareness and monitors international fundraising trends and best practices
- Proactively utilizes Salesforce for donor management and reporting – entering and managing all donor stewardship interactions in the database in an accurate and timely manner

Skills and Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience of frontline fundraising experience focusing on portfolio management with proven success of helping increase giving
- Proven track record in initiating, stewarding and moving individual gifts to higher levels of support
- Experience managing and being accountable for fundraising targets and donor relationships
- Previous Development experience ideally with an international human rights or development non-profit
- Ability to work on multiple jobs at one time, with time constraint pressure, to meet absolute deadlines of multi-channel campaigns, on a routine basis
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a team and to build and maintain positive relationships with all levels of the organization, including volunteer leadership, senior management, and staff
- Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, tactfulness, and good judgment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills – includes communication with donors, senior leadership, and colleagues
- Excellent listening skills - accepts constructive feedback
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and meets deadlines
- Excellent computer skills, including competency with standard business applications and database systems
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically (up to 50%) and to work/travel on evenings and weekends for events as needed

- Discretion with sensitive materials
- Strong commitment and respect for Women for Women International’s mission and values
- Knowledge of Salesforce as a CRM tool
Preferred
- Experience with an international human rights or development non-profit
- Experience in the Middle East

- While this position is remote, preference for applicant to be based on the US East Coast
