Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team, you’ll develop engaging content, foster community connections, and support broader marketing and communications initiatives that elevate Little Island’s presence across digital and traditional platforms.

    What You’ll Do

    Social Media and Content Creation

    • Develop and manage Little Island’s social media calendar, balancing storytelling, programming highlights, and engagement-driven content, in line with the strategy set by the Director of Marketing and Communications.
    • Capture and edit real-time photo and video content in the park and during performances, offering behind-the-scenes moments and audience perspectives, following the Director’s guidance.
    • Create, schedule, and publish platform-specific social content, ensuring consistency with the overall marketing strategy.
    • Engage with followers, responding authentically to comments, DMs, and tagged posts, in line with team guidelines and tone.
    • Identify and leverage trending topics, cultural moments, and viral opportunities that align with Little Island’s mission and the Director’s strategic vision.

    Ticketing and Communications Support

    • Draft and manage departmental communications, including newsletters and e-blasts.
    • Support ticketing operations by processing house seats and internal comp requests while tracking inventory for accurate reporting.
    • Assist in press relations – maintaining media lists, coordinating interviews, and supporting press events.
    • Organize team meetings, special projects, and communications events.
    • Track and process team expenses.

    Brand and Digital Asset Management

    • Coordinate and track email marketing campaigns, drafting content, sending emails and monitoring performances.
    • Oversee the production and consistency of printed and digital materials, including in-park signage.
    • Create signage maps and coordinate deployment with park operations.
    • Manage and catalog photo and video archive.
    • Maintain and update website content through LittleIsland.org’s CMS and respond to inquiries from the info@ inbox.
    • Collaborate with Horticulture to update the monthly plant/bloom lists online.

    Analytics and Reporting

    • Monitor social media metrics and generate regular engagement reports.
    • Use data-driven insights to refine content strategy and identify growth opportunities.

    • 3+ years of experience in social media, communications, or marketing, preferably in the arts, nonprofit or live entertainment industries.
    • A strategic mindset with a track record of measurable impact.
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills with an editorial eye and brand voice consistency.
    • Hands-on experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
    • Proficiency in photo and video editing tools (Canva, CapCut, Adobe Suite, or similar).
    • Knowledge of digital engagement trends and analytics, with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
    • A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit—someone who thrives in a fast-moving, creative environment.
    • A passion for public art, live performance, and community storytelling.
    • A willingness to be onsite, particularly in the summer season, including evenings and weekends, to capture content and strategy and engage audiences.
    • Ability to navigate the park’s outdoor environment in various weather conditions.
    • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods, particularly during events.
