    Description

Work to make sure everyone has clean air to breathe. We are hiring for citizen outreach and field manager positions working on issues like stopping plastic pollution, advocating for renewable energy, and holding corporations accountable for their pollution and waste.

In our Denver office, we’re working with CoPIRG (the Colorado Public Interest Research Group) to keep our air clean by tackling ozone pollution. In recent summers, we have had a record number of ozone dirty air days and this dangerous pollution damages our lungs and can cause asthma. Since oil and gas emissions are a leading contributor to ozone pollution, we need to cut pollution from them to have clean air. State clean air regulators are currently considering rules that would do just that. However, the oil and gas industry is working to undermine efforts to tackle ozone pollution, but with enough grassroots support we can overcome their opposition and reduce pollution from oil and gas operations.

    As a canvasser you will:

    • Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
    • Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
    • Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
    • Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
    • Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work

At Fund for the Public Interest, we are seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change to fill citizen outreach and field manager positions. We are hiring full-time and part-time staff and have leadership opportunities available.

    Benefits:

    • Medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and dependents
    • Commuter benefit program
    • 401(k) with employer match
    • Paid time off
    • Excellent training program
    • Opportunities for advancement
    • Eligibility for benefits depends on your position, location, duration of employment, and other factors.

Pay: Average of $18.29 - $28.00 per hour
