    Description

    The International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council is a non-profit organization that provides training, certification, and education benefits to wildlife rehabilitators worldwide. Our growing organization is looking for a proactive individual to support our membership. Though this is an administrative position, a personal background in wildlife rehabilitation, animal care, or environmental issues is preferred. Read more about our organization at theiwrc.org.

    Working Conditions

    This position is .5 FTE (20 hours/week) with ability for qualified candidates to discuss an alternative level of staffing. This position can be combined with content specialist and/or development coordinator.

    • Remote work environment
    • Travel may be required one to two times a year

    Membership Duties and Responsibilities

    • Write and distribute monthly e-newsletter
    • Manage the IWRC membership cycle – completion of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual membership tasks and deliverables
    • Maintain membership database
    • Coordinate and host monthly Coffee and Tea virtual meetings
    • Design outreach plans for membership recruitment and retention
    • Maintain contact with membership and public via phone, email, and website in a timely manner
    • Work with Membership Committee to reach applicable strategic goals

    Other Responsibilities

    • Manage office email box and attend to member-related emails and receipts
    • Member phone support during working hours

    Required Qualifications

    • Outgoing and self-motivated individual eager to promote the mission of the IWRC
    • Self-disciplined, highly organized, communicative, and detail-oriented
    • Thrives in a dynamic, collaborative work environment
    • Comfortable working in a remote setting with online work management software
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities in a tactful, decisive, and resourceful manner
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Comfort speaking in front of a camera (e.g. Zoom) and facilitating discussions
    • Proficient with Google Suite and ability to learn new computer programs

    Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree specifically focused on wildlife issues, communications and development, organizational/administrative management, or related field
    • Constituent relationship management database experience (Salesforce proficiency preferred)
    • Paid, volunteer, or educational background in wildlife rehabilitation or related field
    • Experience in communications and/or event management, ideally for a non-profit organization
    • Experience in volunteer management
    • Knowledge of wildlife welfare, conservation, rehabilitation, biology, or related fields
    • Spanish or other non-English language proficiency
