    Position: Workforce Initiative Trainer

    Reports to: Workforce Training Initiative (WTI) Program Director

    Department: Programs

    Location: Los Angeles, CA. This is a hybrid position with some in-person work required. Applicants must live in LA County and be able to get to our office or event locations with reliable transportation. Paid parking is provided for employees. (NCJW|LA reserves the right to return to in-office work at any time.)

    Hours: Full-time, non-exempt (Hybrid) Mon – Fri with a 37.5-hour work week, including some evening and weekend work.

    Position Objective: The Workforce Initiative Trainer will contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive workforce training program. This role will involve creating and facilitating effective training sessions, while also providing personalized case management to program participants.

    General Duties and Responsibilities

    The Workforce Initiative Trainer will collaborate with the WTI Program Director to develop and maintain effective training programs that align with the needs of NCJW|LA program participants. By leveraging best practices and an inclusive, equitable approach, the Trainer will contribute to the creation of a comprehensive training program that equips participants with valuable skills and knowledge in both retail and social service departments.

    Client Management:

    • Maintain intake and onboarding systems tailored to the needs of NCJW|LA clients using company resources and technology to ensure a smooth and efficient experience. This includes conducting phone screenings, email communications, and in-person interviews to determine program eligibility.
    • Input, maintain, and organize detailed, accurate, high-quality client documentation, including case management notes, and reporting to share with program team members.
    • Support program participants in their goals related to professional development opportunities, vocational education programming
    • Provide individual coaching and mentoring to participants to support their learning and development.

    Program Development:

    • Will contribute to the development of a comprehensive workforce program by collaborating with the program leadership to design and implement effective training initiatives.
    • Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, facilities, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor program progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes.
    • Conduct data collection, provide regular written reports, and assist with program assessments and ongoing program improvements

    Training:

    • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars on various topics related to workforce development, including industry-specific skills, soft skills, and career development.
    • Utilize a variety of instructional methods to create a dynamic & engaging learning environment.
    • Customize training to meet the specific needs and learning styles of participants.
    • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback and make ongoing improvements.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) experience in the areas of social work and workforce development.
    • 3+ years’ experience in curriculum development, facilitation, and training; workforce development preferred. Additionally, retail experience is a plus.
    • 3+ years’ experience in social services, ideally in case management and/or customer service, supporting working women in Los Angeles.
    • Resourceful, motivated self-starter who can manage time well and work autonomously with high self-accountability.
    • High emotional intelligence (EQ) is crucial for building respectful and effective relationships with participants.
    • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of issues affecting women in Los Angeles and the impact on their well-being.
    • Strong communication and organization skills (open, honest, humble). We value solution-oriented feedback and problem-solving.
    • Must have strong presentation skills and possess the ability to interact with small, medium, and large groups

    Other Requirements:

    • Must possess a valid Driver's License
    • Have reliable transportation
    • Clear background check
    • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Internet savvy is required.
    • Smartphone compatible with work-related apps. A phone stipend is provided.
    • Physical requirements: The job frequently requires sitting for extended periods, and must have the ability to lift to 30 lbs.

    The anticipated salary range for a non-profit Workforce Initiative Trainer position is $28.00 - $32.00 hourly, depending on location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
