Youth Golf Instructor

About Us: Momentum Golf & Education is dedicated to leveraging the power of golf and education to help youth reach their full potential. We are introducing middle school students to the game of golf while promoting education and personal growth. Our after-school program in Mott Haven, Bronx, aims to make golf accessible to youth who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the sport.

Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient Youth Golf Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf and working with young people. You will be responsible for teaching the fundamentals of golf to middle school students in an engaging and supportive after-school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach golf basics including stance, grip, swing, and rules of the game
• Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that make learning golf fun and accessible
• Ensure safety of all participants during golf activities
• Promote good sportsmanship and positive character development
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive learning environment
• Maintain equipment and assist with setup/breakdown of lessons

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience playing golf, preferably at a competitive level
• Prior experience working with youth, particularly middle school age students
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts simply
• Patience and ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications:

• PGA teaching certification or similar golf instruction credentials
• Experience teaching in diverse, urban environments
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus
• Background in education or youth development
