    Description

    Summary:

    The Development & Operations Manager is responsible for effective coordination and execution of all fundraising activities on behalf of Maternal Mental Health NOW. This is a remote job, however candidates must live within or close to Los Angeles, CA.

    Reporting:

    The Development & Operations Manager reports to the Executive Director. They will also work closely with the Programs Team which includes a Director of Training, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Community Resource Manager, Training Coordinator and contracted Marketing and Social Media consultant team.

    Responsibilities:

    Institutional Fundraising

    • Identify foundation funding prospects and build relationships;
    • Identify corporate sponsorship prospects and build relationships;
    • Oversee writing, editing and submission of foundation proposals, sponsorship requests and reports;
    • Manage grants calendar.

    Events and Administrative Support

    • Organize all aspects fundraising and related events including venue selection, contract negotiation, honoree selection, speaking program, auctions, sponsorships, ticket sales, etc.
    • Assist colleagues with organization and execution of in-person and virtual trainings, meetings and events including securing venue, catering, agendas, speakers and other logistical details;
    • Maintain a database of event venues and vendors;
    • Assist with event budgeting;
    • Support solicitation and execution of event sponsorship deliverables;
    • Plan and execute external communications in the lead up, during and post events;
    • Facilitate volunteer Gala Committee.

    Individual Donor Cultivation

    • Create and manage a fundraising calendar for the organization to include special events, campaigns and appeals;
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new and existing donors to Maternal Mental Health NOW;
    • Oversee writing, design and mailing of annual fundraising appeals and impact reports;
    • Identify and cultivate major giving prospects in partnership with Executive Director;
    • Appropriately and creatively thank donors for their gifts.

    Communications

    • Manage Maternal Mental Health NOW’s external communications via Google Groups and Network for Good email marketing platform;
    • Monitor and respond to info@maternalmentalhealthnow.org email address;
    • Regularly update Maternal Mental Health NOW’s website;

    Data Collection & Reporting

    • Attend weekly staff meetings and other meetings as assigned;
    • Manage Maternal Mental Health NOW’s donor database (Network for Good), including entering data and running queries and reports for analysis;
    • Identify and report on key metrics and benchmarks on a weekly basis (i.e. email open rates, website visitors, etc.)
    • Create evaluation surveys and implement automated workflows;
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Governing Council’s Finance Committee on income projections;
    • Contribute to strategic and operational planning of the organization;
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Communications, Sociology, Psychology, Business, or related field.
    • Grant writing experience.
    • Excellent time management and organization skills.
    • Minimum of three years of nonprofit fundraising/resource development experience including database management, annual appeals, special events, major gifts and similar activities.
    • Experience working in a deadline‐driven environment.
    • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines.

    Other Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of fundraising best practices.
    • Computer skills in word processing, data base management, spreadsheets and electronic communications (email, listserv, e‐newsletters, etc.).
