    Arlington Thrive provides emergency financial support and hope to our communities through a variety of unique assistance programs. Access to emergency funding, case management support, and additional resources that promote long-term solutions, give our neighbors the opportunity to thrive and live with dignity. Most clients are the working poor, elderly, and disabled people on a fixed income, and the homeless and formerly homeless who need Arlington Thrive’s funds as a “safety net” until they are able to get back on firmer financial footing. Arlington Thrive’s clients are among Arlington County’s most vulnerable residents.

    Position Overview

    The Community Resilience Program assistant position at Arlington Thrive is a key position responsible for the weekly administration of Thrive’s Community Resilience funding program. Looking for someone with a customer service mindset, patience in working with our clients, and accurate data entry skills. This is a part-time position at 20 hours per week and does not include benefits. This is a hybrid position, and you will be required to be in office for a significant portion of the hours worked.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitoring email requests from individuals for financial assistance.
    • Communicating with individuals and/or social service case managers about Community Resilience Fund eligibility requirements and ensuring required documentation is submitted for financial assistance.
    • Creating/updating Memoranda of Understanding with partner agencies who wish to access financial assistance for their clients.
    • Training staff of partner agencies on processes for requesting assistance.
    • Monitoring and approving/denying fund requests from partner agencies.
    • Monitoring account balances during each month.
    • Processing payments in QuickBooks Online and BILL.
    • Data entry and management into programs such as Monday.com, Jotform and SharePoint
    • Supporting quality control efforts to identify and resolve data quality issues.
    • Supporting the implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans for multiple programs.

    Required Experience/Skills

    • High school diploma
    • Two years of customer service experience working in a professional setting
    • Must be detail oriented and comfortable working with strict deadlines
    • Must have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
    • Strong motivation and the ability to work independently or on a team as necessary
    • Two years’ experience with all Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    Preferred but not required skills:

    • Familiarity with social service organizations
    • QuickBooks Online and BILL
    • Experience using a database/Queue system

    The hourly range is $27 - $29 based on experience.

    Level of Language Proficiency
