The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Social Worker for the Looking Ahead program to support the mental health and wellness of child actors and their families in professional tv, film and theater productions. Social worker will work with youth (ages 9-18), young adults, their families and various industry stakeholders in service of program mission to support professional child actors with navigating the unique challenges of the entertainment industry and in making successful transitions to adulthood.
This is currently a hybrid position with the requirement of working a minimum of 2 full days a week in our Los Angeles office. The Entertainment Community Fund reserves the right to increase the required number of in-office days per week at their discretion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The social worker will provide supportive counseling to youth, alumni and parents of program members, and will maintain a case load of program clients. Social worker will also provide counseling services and crisis intervention to youth and occasionally adult entertainment professionals in film, tv and theater productions. The social worker will also be responsible for developing curriculum and facilitating training and workshops for youth in the industry, as well as industry stakeholders such as Assistant Directors, Showrunners, Studio teachers, Agents and Managers and others. In supporting the needs of clients and families, the social worker will utilize both internal and external community resources to support interventions. Social worker will also provide event coverage and facilitation for program enrichment events such as a monthly leadership meeting, as well as monthly social and community service events such as laser tag, movie nights volunteering. Where necessary, social worker will also assist young performers and their families in creating educational plans for current schooling options and post-secondary endeavors. The social worker will collaborate and work closely with fellow Looking Ahead team members and larger social service colleagues and will work to develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with industry stakeholders in support of programs mission.

This is a full-time salaried position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s Western Region offices in Hollywood. COMPENSATION
Compensation is commensurate with licensure type and years of experience. The salary range for candidates who hold an MSW is between $67,500 - $71,826. The salary range for candidates who hold an LCSW is between $75,063 - $76,826. Internships, volunteer work, and gaps in employment will not be counted towards years of experience.
