    Description

    Bring your administrative and customer service skills to our breeding program.

    At Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB), we raise and train puppies to become guide dogs for individuals who are blind and visually impaired. We are seeking a self-starter with excellent customer service and administrative skills to join us as a Breeding Program Coordinator at our San Rafael, CA campus. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of communication and coordination for Breeding department staff, on-campus volunteers, and volunteer Breeder Custodians, including constituent relationship building, education, community outreach, and special events.

    What you’ll do:

    • Assist in the development and execution of program plans, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational goals and objectives
    • Provide administrative support to Breeding Department staff and other areas as assigned, including reviewing mail and ordering office supplies and dog equipment
    • Run and prepare reports and database queries and perform data entry
    • Prepare and maintain necessary files or documentation of financial records, correspondence, special projects, and budgets
    • Facilitate communication and program coordination within and between the Breeding, Puppy Raising, Canine Welfare Neonatal, and Veterinary departments
    • Act as primary contact for the public, volunteers, and other staff interfacing with the Breeding Department, including walk-ins, phone calls, email, internet inquiries, and mail correspondence
    • Fill volunteer vacancies and provide orientation, training, scheduling, and supervision of volunteers in support of Breeding department staff
    • Develop and effectively communicate outreach for custodial constituents, including operational communications, litter notifications, social media content, graduation notices, educational material, sympathy cards, and coordinating special events
    • Represent department on selected committees as needed and assist with special department projects, events, and other duties

    The qualifications you’ll need:

    • 3+ years’ administrative, project management, and planning experience, as well as excellent communication and listening skills
    • Experience building relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public
    • A sense of enthusiasm, focus, creativity, humor, and a positive outlook
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Salesforce required
