    Description

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Pathways Coordinator will play a key role in supporting North10's efforts to engage local high school students and Opportunity Youth (young people aged 16-24 who are not in school or working) by assisting in the operation of the Saturday Teen Program and leading outreach efforts to connect with Opportunity Youth in the community. This position is designed to foster positive youth development, help teens build skills for their future, and guide disconnected youth towards educational, career, and personal growth opportunities.

This position will oversee a weekly Saturday program, so the work schedule will include Saturdays.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Saturday Teen Program Coordination

    • Assist the High School Case Manager with planning, coordinating, and implementing the Saturday Teen Program.
    • Facilitate workshops and activities focused on academic enrichment, personal development, career exploration, and social skills.
    • Support the logistics of the program, including scheduling, securing guest speakers, organizing trips, and coordinating transportation when needed.
    • Monitor teen participants’ engagement and progress and provide feedback to the High School Case Manager.
    • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all teen participants.
    • Collect and maintain program attendance and evaluation data to assess program impact and ensure continuous improvement.

    Outreach to Opportunity Youth

    • Develop and implement strategies to identify and connect with Opportunity Youth in the community, through both in-person and digital outreach.
    • Build relationships with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to identify potential participants for Opportunity Youth programs.
    • Conduct one-on-one and group sessions with Opportunity Youth to assess their needs, goals, and barriers to engagement in education or employment.
    • Work closely with the High School Case Manager and community partners to refer youth to appropriate services, such as GED programs, job training, internships, or mental health support.
    • Track engagement efforts and outcomes to ensure successful follow-ups and continued support for Opportunity Youth.

    Collaboration and Reporting

    • Partner with North10’s other program staff, including the Youth Programs team and neighborhood services, to ensure alignment of services and share resources for youth.
    • Assist in maintaining strong communication with families, schools, and other relevant stakeholders regarding participants’ progress and needs.
    • Prepare reports on program attendance, outcomes, and challenges, and share them with the High School Case Manager and other relevant team members.
    • Contribute to program development and improvement by sharing insights and feedback based on direct experience with teens and Opportunity Youth.

    Mentorship and Support

    • Serve as a mentor and positive role model for youth participants, offering guidance, encouragement, and support for their academic and career goals.
    • Help teens navigate challenges both in and outside of the program, including identifying barriers to success and finding solutions in collaboration with other North10 staff.
    • Encourage and empower teens and Opportunity Youth to take ownership of their personal growth and actively participate in shaping their futures.
