As a nonprofit, we engage corporations in large-scale service projects, prepare skilled leaders to serve on nonprofit boards, expand the volunteer service capacity for nonprofits, and partner with organizations to engage college students in immersive service trips.     Job Summary

    The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator (VEC) will play a pivotal role in connecting individuals and organizations to meaningful social impact opportunities while advancing the mission of the From: Baltimore program. The VEC is responsible for fostering partnerships with recruited, potential, and existing volunteers for participation in volunteer projects, community development programs, and engaging young adults in service trips and professional development opportunities. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to equity and inclusion, and the ability to effectively manage outreach efforts and youth engagement initiatives.

    Duties

    • Supervise and support volunteers throughout their engagement with the organization.
    • Develop and implement training programs that equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge.
    • Lead campus recruitment efforts to attract new volunteers from local educational institutions.
    • Manage the entire recruiting process, including outreach, interviews, and onboarding of new volunteers.
    • Utilize digital platforms (America Learns, Eventbrite, etc) for tracking volunteer information and engagement metrics.
    • Conduct public speaking engagements to promote volunteer opportunities and share success stories.
    • Oversee social media management to enhance visibility of volunteer programs and attract potential volunteers.
    • Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and align them with organizational goals.
    • Evaluate volunteer performance and provide constructive feedback to foster growth and improvement.

    Experience

    • Proven experience in supervising teams or individuals, preferably in a volunteer or community service context.
    • Background in training development, demonstrating the ability to create effective learning experiences.
    • Familiarity with campus recruitment strategies to engage students and young professionals.
    • Experience in social work or related fields is highly desirable.
    • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various platforms.
    • Proficient in using Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge for data management related to volunteers.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
