Position Title: Legislative Advocate
Pay Range: ~$65,000- $75,000

Hours: Full time (40 hrs/week with five (5) paid well-being hours weekly)
Location: Must be based in Oregon by February 1. This is primarily a remote position that offers flexibility for staff to have a home office or access to shared co-working space. During the legislative session (approximately 5 months every other year), this position will be required to be present in the State Capitol in Salem on average three days a week and up to five days a week as needed.

About the job
The Legislative Advocate is responsible for supporting Oregon Just Transition Alliance in advancing alliance policy goals through building and sustaining alliance member relationships with policymakers, frontline voices, and stakeholders. This includes developing and maintaining legislator relations; accessing and disseminating information on the policy making process through maintaining a consistent feedback loop with key stakeholders; tracking, training, and facilitating alliance participation in strategic spaces; developing and executing work plans; and engaging and supporting the alliance in administrative and legislative processes.

The candidate must be based in Oregon by February 1. This is primarily a remote position that offers flexibility for staff to have a home office or access to shared co-working space. Staff are expected to occasionally attend in-person monthly staff meetings, fundraising events, member events and retreats that are held across the state. The candidate is required to travel throughout the state to build relationships and represent the organization. During the legislative session (approximately 5 months every other year), this position will be required to be present in the State Capitol in Salem, on average, three days a week and up to five days a week as needed. Work related travel expenses are 100% covered.

This is a salaried, exempt, full-time position. The annual salary range is $65,000- $75,000 depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance at no cost for the employee; 401k plan with matching 100% of your salary deferrals up to the first 5% of your eligible compensation; an annual office closure for summer and winter (three weeks total), four weeks paid vacation, 11 holidays, 4 personal floating holidays, 2 paid sick days a year, and five (5) paid well-being hours weekly.
