    Social Services Manager

    POSITION

    An exciting opportunity to join a small buy mighty organization making a huge impact in the community that we serve. Reporting to the Director of Operations, The Social Services Manager will be responsible for the operational success of Social Services and programming. This position is responsible for establishing a professional and supportive “first contact” for our program participants entering Fisherman’s Mark, conducting initial screening for service and providing IR&R and/or case management as needed. This position will also play a key role in the development, delivery and evaluation of community outreach programs in achieving their desired impact.     RESPONSIBLITITES:

    Case Management and IRR (70% of job)

    CLIENT - BASED

    • Conduct initial intake and needs assessment interview with all clients: Review client histories and determine the level of service needed as well as client eligibility for specific programs and services.
    • Collection of basic information to create/maintain program participants files
    • Review program participants histories and determine level of service needed
    • Work with program participants to mutually contact resource organizations
    • Develop care plans to address individuals needs and goals
    • Adhere to strict boundaries and professional ethics in the care of others

    DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING

    • Maintain confidential client files, compile statistical information, and meet all funder reporting requirements
    • Provide regular activity reports to supervisor as required
    • Develop tracking of “Bridge to Self Sufficiency”

    Program Development and Oversight (30% of job)

    • Ensures growth in current programs, development of new and innovative programs that meet the changing needs of our clients and community.
    • Establish consistent, objective program performance standards of accountability.
    • Interact directly with program participants
    • As a member of the leadership team, develop and implement all guidelines and policies with the purpose of ensuring compliance with all government regulations, as well as maintaining alignment with the organization’s mission
    • Monitor the effectiveness of programs, adjusting as needed
    • Lead the development and efficient implementation of all social service programming to ensure consistency, high quality, and mission alignment

    Leadership

    • Communication: Represent FM to community and public to promote the agency’s mission, broaden its reach and enhance credibility.
    • Outreach: Develop new and cultivate existing collaborations with partner agencies to ensure availability of resources and access to services for agency’s clients; increasing program efficacy and breadth of offerings while strengthening service provision.
    • Strategic and Planning: Work with leadership team and board members on community needs assessments and strategic planning for agency.
    • Core Competencies: Must demonstrate a high level of cultural competencies, sensitivity and responsiveness. Uphold the organizations core values of integrity, belonging, empathy and inspiration

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in gerontology, social work, sociology or other human services field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in social services
    • Prior experience in program management; developing and evaluating program models as well as selecting and successfully executing innovative programs
    • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
    • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize work to balance multiple cases and program participants as well as contribute to the efforts of the entire FM team
    • A demonstrated passion for helping others and improving the community

    Preferred:

    • MSW/NJ LSW (5 years of social service may be substituted)
    • Experience working with diverse populations such as; seniors, the disabled, under and un-employed
    • Experience navigating government benefits
    • Experience assisting clients with housing, transportation and health insurance
    • Bilingual, Spanish-English
    • Grant-writing experience
