    Since the 1990s, the Affiliated Santé Group (Santé meaning health in French) has supported individuals living with mental, emotional, and substance use conditions through a consortium of nonprofit organizations. The common thread between them all is the ability to provide hope and healing to individuals in their most vulnerable times.

    The Rock Creek Foundation was founded in 1973, and is part of that consortium. We empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or profound mental illness to stay or reintegrate into their community of choice through a combination of therapeutic and rehabilitative services. We offer a comprehensive range of treatment options, including supported employment, residential rehabilitation, meaningful day, and psychiatric rehabilitation services.

    Both the Rock Creek Foundation and Affiliated Santé Group are led by Black women who have been part of their respective organizations for more than 15 years.

    The Role

    The Director of Finance oversees and directs grant, billing, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing and payroll for both organizations and their subsidiaries, including annual HUD renewals and DDA reporting. They are responsible for development, monitoring and achievement of annual company and program budget for all organizations, as well as the development and achievement of annual goals and objectives for the finance department.

    Specifically, this leader:

    • Ensures that all accounting practices are in compliance with policies and procedures, federal/state/county regulations, and accreditation standards
    • Is responsible for staff hiring, orientation, training, termination and supervision of finance department staff in compliance with all company policies and procedures
    • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with staff to exchange administrative information
    • Oversees day-to-day operations of Finance Department, including preparing reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
    • Ensures all monthly close process is completed and reviewed, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, all revenue recognition and other reports necessary for completion.
    • Provides executive management with timely reviews of both organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
    • Builds and maintains effective internal financial controls
    • Manages day-to-day relations with banks and other financial institutions
    • Participates in all Leadership meetings for all companies
    • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)
    • Participates in and completes all required trainings
    • Checks work e-mail according to agency protocol
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance or economics; AND ten (10) years’ related experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual shall have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook). Must be able to be trained on Electronic Consumer Record software. Must be proficient with MS Excel and accounting, database and payroll software.

    Location

    RCF and ASG are currently headquartered in Silver Spring/White Oak. This role is hybrid, with three days per week in person and two days per week remote. Candidates must be located in the Washington, DC region to facilitate on-site work, with reliable transportation to attend meetings as needed.

    Compensation & Benefits

    The budgeted salary for this role is between $115,000-$125,000, with a benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, four weeks of paid time off, 403(b) retirement plan, professional development funds and more. To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter.
