    Description

    Agency Description: The East Boston Community Council (EBCC) is a neighborhood-based organization that promotes the advancement of Latino immigrants in East Boston. EBCC employs a multicultural staff of 20 who integrate multi-faceted community organizing with a wide range of services including immigration, adult education, social work, and youth development services.

    Job Description: Manage EBCC's Youth Center ASPIRING. Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of after-school and summer programming serving immigrant high school students who attend East Boston High School. Current programs focus on promoting educational achievement and leadership development.

    Duties include school-based outreach to recruit program participants; building relationships with program participants; managing the daily operation of the Youth Center; supervising staff and college student volunteers; leading health promotion workshops and recreational activities; maintaining collaborative relationships with personnel at East Boston High School and neighborhood youth-serving agencies; maintaining participant and program records; participating in program development and evaluation; and, participating in agency management and development. The position reports to the agency's Executive Director.

    Dates/Hours: Part-time, year-round position. Monday through Friday 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Occasional evenings and Saturdays. Beginning immediately.

One year of experience in staff supervision and program management. Strong outreach and group work skills. Excellent computer skills. Track record of program development, asset building, and or developing remedial education programs. Able to understand, create and nurture relationships with a focus on teen empowerment. Strong presentation and communication skills. Spanish proficiency is required. Fluency is a plus.
