The KidWind Project, an international leader in clean energy education, has been working with educators to integrate clean energy into classrooms for over 15 years. With its extensive network of instructors, KidWind has trained thousands of educators in ways to bring wind and solar power to life in the classroom, guided by its award winning curriculum, its unique tools and kits, and a deep passion for the subject matter.

    Job Description: The KidWind Project is seeking 3 part-time remote Program Assistants to support our team on various projects through May 2025, with the possibility of extension. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to start their career and gain valuable experience in the green energy sector.

    Ideal applicants have some technical knowledge in clean energy or sustainability and a desire to work in the education field. These positions require attention to detail, organization, great communication skills, and enthusiasm for teaching the world about clean energy!

    Responsibilities: Based on the applicant's skills and experience, job responsibilities will include some combination of the following.

    Workshops

    • Monitoring remote events
    • Updating curricular and/or training documents
    • Maintaining databases
    • Compiling end of season reports
    • Communicating with our regional KidWind Organizers
    • Updating web content
    • Creating workshop materials

    Curriculum

    • Updating and copy editing curricular and training documents
    • Maintaining databases
    • Updating web content
    • Communicating with educators and partners
    • Creating promotional materials

    Communication and Social Media

    • Creating content for KidWind's social media
    • Compiling news stories to feature on KidWind's website
    • Creating, revising, and maintaining print and digital materials to support KidWind programming
    • Collaborating with members of the KidWind team to create website content and promotional materials

    Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or completed bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience typically gained through a bachelor's degree
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Basic knowledge of Google apps or other web-based collaboration tools
    • All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and located in one of the following states: Connecticut, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon, Vermont, or Washington

    Schedule

    • Flexible work schedule, approximately 10 hours per week
    • Remote work with the potential for some travel to in-person events
    • Occasional evening and weekend hours supporting virtual events
