    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Donor & Corporate Relations Manager collaborates with the Director of Development & Communications and the Senior Manager of Development & Communications on the planning, management, and execution of DYF’s fundraising initiatives, ensuring DYF meet and exceed its annual fundraising goals. The position manages a portfolio of donors, DYF’s Workplace Giving Program, and DYF’s Corporate Giving Program. This role involves diverse interactions via email, phone, and in-person meetings, with opportunities for travel and participation at camp and at community or fundraising events. This is an excellent opportunity to have a major impact within the T1D community and collaborate with a dynamic, dedicated, and passionate team.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary responsibilities of the position include:

    • Supporting the Director of Development & Communications in all Development Department fundraising efforts. Specific duties include:
      • Expanding DYF’s sponsorship opportunities and managing sponsorships to ensure benefit coordination and delivery;
      • Expanding DYF’s Workplace donor program, including integrating and managing Double the Donation and coordinating with Operations Manager to identify workplace and stewardship prospects;
      • Identifying and cultivating new donors.
      • In collaboration with the Director of Development & Communications and the Senior Manager of Development & Communications, creating strategies and plans to increase donor engagement and donations.
      • Conducting donor stewardship and building a culture of philanthropy by:
        • Developing relationships with and stewarding assigned donor segments;
        • Conducting outreach initiatives to enhance donor relationships, promote DYF, and drive engagement.;
        • Drafting and sending handwritten notes, conducting telephone conversations, and conducting in-person donor meetings.
        • Conducting prospect research.
      • In conjunction with the Director of Development & Communications and and the Senior Manager of Development & Communications, executing DYF’s fundraising efforts. Duties include but are not limited to:
        • Writing personalized appeal notes and conducting appeal follow up;
        • Soliciting donations for and coordinating sponsorship perks related to the DYF Day crowdfunding campaign;
        • Assisting with the DYF Day Community Day, including soliciting raffle items and coordinating of day of logistics.
      • In conjunction with the Director of Development & Communications and and the Senior Manager of Development & Communications, executing DYF’s annual fundraising gala, which generates over $250,000 annually. Duties include but are not limited to:
        • Sponsorship package development, cultivation, solicitation, and coordination, including VIP coordination.
      • Assisting with the execution of, attending, and speaking publicly at DYF or community events, as needed.
      • Supporting the Director of Development & Communications, Senior Manager of Development & Communications, Marketing & Branding Coordinator, and the rest of the DYF team with other activities, as needed.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be located within commuting distance to the DYF office in Concord, CA.
    • 5+ years of experience within a nonprofit development department.
    • Proven track record of success stewarding donor relationships and conducting fundraising asks.
    • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent in-person, verbal, and written communication skills, essential for interacting with donors and stakeholders effectively.
    • Independent and self-led worker with excellent problem solving skills.
    • Experience with donor management software (CRM).
    • Multitasking Ability: Proficient in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, balancing customer service, relationship management, and data entry without compromising quality or efficiency.
    • Demonstrated ability to be a strong contributor as a member of a cross-functional team.
    • Passion for the work of DYF and the T1D community.
    • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
    • Ability to embody, articulate, and represent DYF’s mission, vision, and passion to the external community.
    • Must be a team player willing to collaborate with co-workers and contribute to a small, dedicated team.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proficiency with DonorPerfect, GreaterGiving, and Double the Donation is highly desired.
    • Advanced level user of Microsoft computer applications and Google Suite is highly desired.
    • Knowledge of type 1 diabetes or chronic disease management is preferred.
    • Bi-lingual in Spanish is desired but not required.

    COMPENSATION & BENEFIT INFORMATION

    • Compensation commensurate with experience; starting range is $78,000 to $88,000 annually.
    • DYF currently provides health, dental, vision, basic life, and short-term & long-term disability insurance plans for full-time employees. Employee premiums 100% funded by DYF.
    • DYF also offers employee funded 403(b) retirement plan with a company match and an employee funded FSA plan.
    • Ten (10) earned sick days per year.

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of one to two non-consecutive days in the office per month, plus additional time as directed by leadership in response to organizational needs. This position is required to work occasional evenings and weekends including, but not limited to, attending one weeklong Family Camp session at Bearskin Meadow Camp in the Sequoia National Forest. This position is required to occasionally drive to camp sessions and fundraising events throughout California.

    Employees are responsible and accountable for:

    • Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.
    • Full vaccination against COVID-19.
    • Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.
    • Ability to operate a computer for extended periods with appropriate breaks.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, with high demands.
    • Valid driver’s license and driving records which meet DYF’s insurance carrier requirements.
    • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed including some weekends and evenings.
