    Description

    The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Market Solutions Coordinator to join the Market Solutions team. As a professional membership organization, NAEYC works to ensure high-quality early learning for every child, from birth through age 8, and supports educators, families, and early childhood professionals.

    NAEYC is a professional membership organization with 90+ employees across the US, that works to promote high-quality early learning for each and every child, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. NAEYC advances a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and supports all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.

    Responsibilities:

    • Creates quotes and sales orders based on sales manager requests
    • Responds to customer inquiries and assists sales manager with customer communications
    • Monitors fulfillment; and when necessary, and identify solutions with assistance from the operations and product managers
    • Oversees billing and collections in coordination with direct sales tracking and the finance team
    • Tracks direct sales; analyzes data for leads, trends and reporting
    • Works with internal and external sales team to prepare sales materials; to ensure knowledge is shared among project/product managers and sales managers; and to support fulfillment for all products sold through direct sales
    • Serves as the first point of contact for urgent calls, emails and messages when sales managers are not available
    • Contributes to the research and outreach toward securing new customer relationships; to include, identifying and qualifying leads, initial communications, and data entry or importing contacts
    • Supports staff for conferences and trade shows by coordinating booth logistics, shipping, sales materials, and signage
    • Coordinates staff travel logistics
    • Prepares pre- and post-show lead cultivation reports
    • Tracks future year's events and tracks costs
    • Manages the CRM sales module functionality
    • Create or update customer records according to NAEYC and MSCCT data governance
    • Maintains quality data and accessible reporting
    • Tracks direct sales and prepares weekly and monthly lead cultivation and revenue reports
    • Coordinates with the operations and IT teams to resolve system issues
    • Works closely with the Senior Director on contracting, allocating funds, fulfilling benefits, responding to inquiries, and supporting on-site meeting activities for Year-Round Sponsors and event partners
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Market Solutions and Customer Care

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
    • Three to five years of customer service and project-related experience.
    • Prior member-driven non-profit or association experience preferred.
    • Ability to write correspondence in a clear and professional manner.
    • Utilize effective listening skills to confirm understanding, deescalate emotion, and solve problems.
    • Superior customer service skills in person, via phone and in writing.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
    • Exercise good judgment.
    • Knowledge of NAEYC's membership, resource sales, subscription systems, customer service and accounting policies and procedures.
    • Exhibits behaviors in support of a high performing team.
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office- Word and Excel.
    • Ability to use database applications and the Internet.
    • Ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Salary Range: Competitive, based on experience and geographic location (remote work options available outside of the DC area).

    Position Designation Hybrid: This role is based in the DC Metro Region and is required to physically be on-site in the DC office one to three day(s) a week due to the needs of the position. Employees are expected to be in the office on Wednesday's unless otherwise determined by immediate supervisor and department leadership.

    Business Continuity:

    The nature of this role assigns this position to the Business Continuity team; therefore, this role is critical to business operations and may be called upon to be present in the event of an emergency or crisis.
