    Description

    Day One is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Resilience Coordinator to manage and lead the Displacement Avoidance Plan under the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) grant. The candidate will be responsible for comprehensive displacement prevention, tenant rights outreach, economic empowerment programs, small business support, and grant management. This role requires strong community engagement skills, fluency in Spanish, and an in-depth knowledge of disadvantaged communities. The position requires availability for weekend and evening work as needed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Comprehensive Displacement Prevention and Tenant Rights Outreach:
      • Develop and implement strategies to prevent displacement of low-income residents.
      • Educate tenants on their rights and provide resources for legal assistance.
      • Organize community workshops and informational sessions.
      • Identify and convene a list of voluntary legal assistance partners
    2. Economic Empowerment and Asset Building Program for Low-Income Residents:
      • Design and manage programs aimed at economic empowerment
      • Implement opportunities that increase asset building opportunities
      • Facilitate financial literacy workshops and asset-building initiatives.
    3. Small Business Support and Collaboration:
      • Create and maintain a Small Business Alliance to foster collaboration among local businesses.
      • Provide consulting and training programs to support small business development.
      • Offer resources and guidance for business growth and sustainability.
    4. Grant Management:
      • Oversee the administration of the TCC grant, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
      • Prepare and submit regular reports on program progress and financial status.
      • Coordinate with stakeholders to align grant activities with community needs.

    Non-Traditional Work Hours

    This position requires working non-traditional hours that may require early mornings, evenings and weekends in order to accommodate youth and family schedules, school district meetings, city council meetings, community events/meetings, and any other convenings that support the completion of project and organizational goals.

    Working Conditions

    • Works both indoor and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
    • Physical effort Lift and/or Transport equipment up to 50 pounds or more
    • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, walking
    • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
    • Working conditions and physical demands which relate to the essential functions of the position can vary and change on a daily basis.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in managing or leading community-based programs.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
