    Content and Communications Coordinator

    Pay: $25/hr at 15-20 hrs/wk

    This position offers flexible hours and the ability to work some hours from home if desired. Tuesday afternoons and some hours on Fridays will be required in person, along with 4-6 Sundays/year.

Located in Northwest Philadelphia, our congregation seeks to hire additional support to amplify and improve our communications and messaging across a variety of mediums.     Essential functions:

    • Design and produce print and web publications: Produces and distributes all print and electronic literature (brochures, orders of service, announcements, weekly and monthly e-newsletters, mailings, flyers, bulletin boards).
    • Web design and maintenance: Manages website and branding re-design with assistance from outside consultants as needed, designs visually appealing graphics for website, maintains website to reflect frequent updates and changes.
    • Social media content production: Creates, manages, and archives content and video for social media channels and YouTube. Creates compelling content to grow social media followings across platforms.
    • Database management: Manages the database for congregational membership (Breeze), attendance, and programs (visitors, directory, mailings, program registration, etc.).
    • Administrative support: Works with Congregational Administrator to maintain calendar, answer phone calls and emails, schedule events, order supplies, and complete general clerical duties as needed.

    Core Qualities: As the face of communications for the congregation, the candidate must possess superior interpersonal skills. A successful candidate will be obsessively detailed, aesthetically driven, interpersonally mature, energetic, hopeful, able to work autonomously and collaboratively, and have a good sense of humor and a strong sense of justice. The Content and Communications Coordinator will be an effective storyteller who can create captivating social media content for audiences across the wide span of ages in our congregation. Candidates must demonstrate outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills. In addition, experience with social media content production, web design, and database management are required. This position will report to the Congregational Administrator under oversight of the Minister. Respect for and willingness to learn about Unitarian Universalist values will be essential.

    Required proficiencies: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Photoshop, Youtube, MailChimp, video editing software.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Our building is fully wheelchair accessible, with the exception of our gender-neutral restrooms, which are located down one flight of stairs.
