    Description

    Organization Overview

At Feed the Need Missions, we believe physical nourishment is only the beginning. Through our weekly meal sites, we create spaces where people are fed, relationships are formed, and disciple-making happens naturally. Our calling is simple but powerful: to mobilize believers to serve communities both physically and spiritually—one heartfelt conversation and one meal at a time.

We’re a small, close-knit team that’s expanding our impact in Central Texas, and we need passionate, resourceful individuals who feel called to help us grow and deepen our ministry. If you have a heart for servant leadership, a drive to inspire others, and a desire to share the love of Jesus in practical ways, we’d love to meet you.

As our Development & Communications Coordinator, you’ll collaborate with staff and volunteers to cultivate meaningful donor relationships, tell stories of transformation, and ignite a movement that brings people together around a shared mission. If you’re ready to make a lasting impact—not just on budgets and campaigns, but in lives changed—we invite you to apply and join us in advancing the gospel through feeding people physically and spiritually.

    Position Summary

The Development & Communications Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive fundraising and communication strategies that advance Feed the Need Missions’ mission. This involves cultivating donor relationships, coordinating fundraising events and appeals, managing donor databases, and helping shape our external communications to share stories of spiritual and community impact.

Because we are a small but growing ministry, you’ll have the opportunity to wear multiple hats. You’ll coordinate with staff and volunteers who serve at weekly meal sites, ensuring our supporters experience the relational, disciple-making heart of our ministry. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to increase donor engagement, strengthen relationships, and promote our mission with authenticity and passion.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Fundraising & Donor Development
      • Develop and execute annual fundraising plans, including appeals, campaigns, and events that reflect our relational, Jesus-centered approach.
      • Identify, research, and cultivate prospective donors (individuals, churches, businesses) while nurturing long-term relationships with current donors.
      • Maintain and update the donor database (record-keeping, acknowledgments, gift tracking) to ensure prompt and meaningful follow-up.
      • Collaborate with the Executive Director on major gift strategies, building genuine relationships with key donors, partners, and influencers.
    2. Events & Appeals
      • Plan and coordinate fundraising events (such as Gobble Kits) that engage community members, donors, and volunteers in ways that reflect our disciple-making focus.
      • Manage event logistics (venue, volunteers, sponsorships, promotions) and oversee post-event follow-up (thank-you letters, impact reporting).
      • Lead or assist with online/offline appeals—leveraging social media, email marketing, direct mail, and in-person presentations—to tell the stories of lives being transformed.
    3. Marketing & Communications
      • Work closely with the Executive Director and team to showcase the relational impact of weekly meal sites and special initiatives through compelling storytelling, testimonies, and videos/photos.
      • Oversee content creation and scheduling for social media, newsletters, blog posts, and other marketing materials, ensuring all communications are Christ-centered and in alignment with our values.
      • Maintain and update the organization’s website (in collaboration with contractors, if needed) for accuracy and consistency, highlighting ongoing ministry efforts.
      • Foster brand consistency and recognition by creating clear, mission-aligned messaging.
    4. Collaboration & Relationship Building
      • Partner with staff, volunteers, and Board members to strengthen community connections and foster a culture of hospitality, prayer, and discipleship at all levels.
      • Represent Feed the Need Missions at local events and networking opportunities to raise awareness and invite deeper engagement in our mission.
      • Cultivate church and business partnerships, sharing how they can support ministry efforts that bring spiritual and physical nourishment to those in need.
    5. Administrative & Reporting
      • Track and analyze fundraising performance metrics (donor retention, campaign ROI, etc.), sharing insights that help refine strategies and improve outcomes.
      • Provide regular updates to the Executive Director regarding fundraising progress, donor engagement, and communication initiatives.
      • Manage development-related budgets responsibly, reflecting stewardship and simplicity.

    Qualifications

    • Faith Alignment: A committed believer who resonates with Feed the Need Missions’ mission, vision, and values; comfortable integrating faith into donor communications and organizational culture.
    • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Previous nonprofit fundraising (2–3 years) or communications experience is preferred.
    • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, especially in crafting heartfelt appeals, social media posts, and event materials.
    • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with donor management or CRM software, email marketing tools, and social media platforms. Basic design or video editing skills are a plus.
