    Boston Children’s Chorus (BCC) harnesses the power of music to connect our city’s diverse communities, cultivate empathy, and inspire social inquiry. Children, ages 7–18, come together across differences of race, religion, and socioeconomic status to celebrate their shared humanity and love of music. We bridge Greater Boston’s many diverse groups and foster a sense of belonging and inclusion. Through intensive choral training and once-in-a-lifetime performing experiences locally, nationally, and around the world, BCC enhances the education and social development of youth as future leaders and global citizens in the 21stcentury.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Marketing and Recruitment Manager will lead BCC’s marketing efforts while driving recruitment strategies to attract diverse new singers. This position will also oversee marketing analytics, data analysis, and budget management while collaborating with external vendors for press, design, and content creation. Managing the Digital Marketing Associate, the role will ensure that all marketing efforts are strategically aligned with BCC’s mission to grow its reach and impact.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Marketing (60%)

    • Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies for all BCC performances, programs, and engagements
    • Manage the creation of promotional materials including brochures, flyers, press releases, newsletters, and digital content
    • Oversee BCC’s website content management, ensuring accurate and engaging information
    • Implement strategic social media campaigns across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok) to grow BCC’s online visibility
    • Oversee ticketing operations for performances and act as the Front of House coordinator for major events
    • Collaborate with external PR agencies and vendors for press releases, digital advertising, photography, and design projects
    • Analyze marketing performance metrics and provide recommendations to optimize campaigns
    • Maintain and organize BCC’s media assets, including photo and video libraries, and manage media coverage records
    • Manage the Digital Marketing Associate, providing guidance, feedback, and support for digital content strategies and execution
    • Manage the marketing budget across all channels (print, digital, social media, PR), ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet strategic goals
    • Ensure that marketing efforts adhere to budget constraints while maximizing ROI on campaigns and events
    • Serve as the main point of contact for a wide range of external vendors, including PR agencies, graphic designers, content creators, and photographers

    Recruitment (40%)

    • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract youth from diverse backgrounds to join BCC’s programs
    • Build partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and youth groups to promote BCC’s mission and offerings
    • Organize and execute recruitment events, placement sessions, and info sessions, coordinating logistics with program staff
    • Track and analyze recruitment data and engagement metrics from intake and marketing campaigns to refine outreach strategies
    • Ensure marketing and recruitment materials align with BCC’s brand identity and reflect the diversity of Greater Boston’s communities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience

    • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, recruitment, and/or community outreach, preferably in a youth-serving organization.
    • Demonstrable experience managing digital marketing, including social media, email campaigns, and website content.
    • Project management experience with external vendors for marketing, design, and PR.
    • Experience with CRM systems and email marketing platforms (Constant Contact, Mailchimp).

    Core Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

    • Strong analytical skills to measure campaign effectiveness, recruitment trends, and audience engagement.
    • Proficiency with design and marketing tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva) and social media management software.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and editing.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Working Conditions & Physical Demands

    • Ability to work at workstation for long periods of time
    • Ability to use a keyboard for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs
    • Ability to work remotely and on-site as required
    • Willingness and ability to work outside the regularly scheduled workday as needed

    COMPENSATION

    Compensation for the role of Marketing and Recruitment Manager at Boston Children’s Chorus is $65,000. BCC offers a competitive benefits package including health, vision & dental insurance, 403(b) employer contributions, generous PTO, short-term disability, and more.
