ABOUT US: This position is part of the Wisconsin Law Help (WLH) project, a statewide initiative led by Judicare Legal Aid to bridge the justice gap in Wisconsin. WLH is a free, public-facing legal help website designed to make the civil legal system accessible for all, especially those who are unable to afford an attorney. WLH provides user-friendly legal information, guided interview to match users with legal help options, and a directory of free and low-cost legal help options.

Although focused on the WLH project, this position will be part of Judicare Legal Aid, a non-profit civil legal aid organization serving low-income people across Wisconsin’s northern 33 counties and Native Americans statewide. Judicare is funded by the Legal Services Corporation, Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation, and other public and private partners. Our mission is to provide legal help to those who otherwise cannot afford it, and our vision is equal justice for all.

We are an eligible employer for public interest-based loan forgiveness and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. Applicants passionate about improving access to justice are encouraged to apply.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Overall Project Management:

    • Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables across WLH initiatives.
    • Coordinate internal workflows and ensure that content development, legal review, technology updates, and stakeholder communications align with strategic priorities.
    • Work in partnership with the Content Manager to ensure editorial processes, legal reviews, and content timelines are effectively managed.
    • Monitor project progress and make strategic adjustments to meet deadlines and evolving user needs.
    • Collaborate with the Communications & Development Director to prepare materials for grant reporting and secure continued funding.
    • Regularly evaluate user feedback and site analytics to inform project planning and improvements.

    Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for WLH stakeholders.
    • Schedule and lead stakeholder meetings.
    • Maintain a system for tracking and communicating project priorities, challenges, and successes for reporting to internal and external partners.

    Content Oversight & Legal Accuracy:

    • Support the Content Manager with content development and prioritization.
    • Oversee processes to ensure published content has been translated to plain language and gone through expert review.
    • Ensure content stays current by pursuing and implementing accuracy check solutions.

    Technology Oversight & Innovation:

    • Manage development efforts in coordination with web developers to ensure alignment with grant and project priorities.
    • Review and approve development of new tools on the site.
    • Propose and pursue solutions to technological functionality of features on the site, including Find Legal Help tool, smarter search function, automated workflows, and interactive form guides.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, law, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in legal aid, nonprofit, or technology projects.
