    The position: We are seeking to fill a Inspections Manager position. We are looking for someone to oversee the day-to-day operations of the department's Housing Quality Standards inspection program and leasing processes.     The ideal candidate has:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Social Sciences, Construction Management, or related field.
    • May substitute an additional four years of relevant work experience for the degree.
    • Five (5) years in affordable housing, low-income program administration, property management, or related field.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Any combination of experience, training, and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions may be considered.
    • Valid Washington driver's license with an insurable driving record.

    What will you do?

    • Plan, organize, and supervise housing inspections.
    • Conduct team and individual meetings; provide training, supervision, and evaluation.
    • Coordinate and monitor staff work; recommend personnel actions.
    • Establish tracking processes for productivity and performance.
    • Resolve landlord and customer complaints; provide support to staff.
    • Ensure compliance with federal laws, SHA's HCV Administrative Plan, and special purpose vouchers.
    • Perform file audits and quality control inspections; ensure files meet audit standards.
    • Ensure timely completion of inspections and certifications.
    • Communicate with peer management groups regarding inspections.
    • Investigate and follow up on program violations.
    • Identify and investigate potential fraud cases.
    • Evaluate and reduce access barriers for individuals with disabilities and limited English proficiency.
    • Participate in SHA's HCV leadership team; assist in policy development.
