    About CorpsAfrica:

    Founded in 2011, CorpsAfrica provides the opportunity for Africans to serve as volunteers in their own countries, along the lines of the Peace Corps model. We train college-educated young Africans and send them to live for up to one year in rural, high-poverty communities to facilitate small-scale, high-impact projects that are identified by local people.     CorpsAfrica has steadily expanded operations from Morocco to Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and the Gambia, with offices soon in Ivory Coast, South Africa, and Nigeria. Having successfully proven the power and effectiveness of the model, CorpsAfrica has begun to receive significant funding from large donors. As we reach a point of significant inflection leading to future expansion, we seek to add motivated, capable, and highly effective staff to our team.

    Overview of the Position:

    This is a full-time role, reporting to the Director of Global Communications and working closely with staff across the organization, the Digital Strategy and Social Media Manager will work to support the organization's global communications efforts and expand its digital footprint.

    This person will collaborate with senior leadership and country office staff to develop and implement web-based strategies that broaden the impact of CorpsAfrica’s programs and elevate the work of Volunteers. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter to gain nonprofit experience, demonstrate innovation and strategic thinking, and help a dynamic organization expand carefully and boldly.

    CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, exempt

    SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary range of $95,000–$100,000. CorpsAfrica offers a comprehensive benefits package including employer-paid medical insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

    LOCATION: Role is based in Washington, DC, with a flexible telecommuting policy, must be able to travel occasionally, as required.

    REPORTS TO: Director of Global Communications

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of digital strategies that support CorpsAfrica’s mission.
    • Collaborate with staff to develop and execute effective digital campaigns that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen the organization’s impact.
    • Lead daily social media and web content management, developing fresh and creative content to engage audiences
    • Deliver useful digital insights by researching digital and social media trends, tracking analytics, and making recommendations for continuous improvement, strengthening SEO, etc.
    • Work closely with country office staff to provide web related support and facilitate training to ensure that CorpsAfrica’s digital and web based efforts are consistent across the various country offices.
    • Collaborate across internal units to create, distribute, and manage digital materials, including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and related content.
    • Support organizational management of Salesforce CRM platform and related databases.
    • Track web and digital analytics and be able to utilize data to inform or adjust web and social media content.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ digital work experience.
    • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, presentation, and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the latest digital trends and technologies and be able to use them to create and support effective digital strategies.
    • Must be proficient in the tactical use of core social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube.
    • Cross-platform digital knowledge, including social media, web design, mobile technologies, online and social brand promotion, etc.; ability to help maintain organization’s website functionality.
    • Experience with social media management systems/platforms is preferred (e.g.. Buffer, Hootsuite Sprinklr, Sprout, Spredfast, Percolate, etc.).
    • Ability to inspire audiences from awareness to action across various digital platforms.
    • Experience collaborating with social and digital vendors.
    • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is helpful.
    • A strong commitment to the mission of CorpsAfrica is required.
