    ABOUT THE FUND

The Fund for Educational Excellence (“the Fund”) is an independent nonprofit organization working to close the equity and opportunity gaps for all students in Baltimore City Public Schools. We believe a strong public school system is the foundation for the health and success of Baltimore. We expand resources, identify and accelerate solutions, and recognize excellence so that all children in Baltimore City Public Schools experience an effective and equitable education.

As the Fund continues to grow and refine the services and supports it provides to Baltimore City Public Schools, the Human Resources department has determined a need for a Part-Time Human Resources Manager. This role will report to the Senior Director, People and Culture. This role will provide payroll and benefits administration to a core staff of 17 based in downtown Baltimore, as well as to the Fund’s fiscal sponsorship clients, whose organizations represent over 100 full-time, part-time and seasonal staff working in educational non-profits throughout the metropolitan area, i.e., the Fund’s “co-employees.”

    WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

The Human Resources Manager will be a part of the Core Fund staff. The human resources function at the Fund interacts on some level with every core staff member at our Baltimore office, as well as our employees who work within our fiscally sponsored organizations. Key interfaces for this role will include the position’s direct manager, the Fund’s Sr. Director of People and Culture. HOW IS TECHNOLOGY USED IN THIS ROLE?

To maximize the value of our knowledge and expertise to our clients, the Fund uses ADP Workforce Now as our HR technology platform of choice to support the processing of payroll and information-sharing and learning across our organization, as well as several complementary systems to manage our health benefits and retirement plan. The HR Manager will support these systems, as well as ensure the Fund maximizes the use of these technologies for our benefit.

Collaborates with benefit providers, e.g., insurance companies, retirement plan administrators. Acts as the administrator for the Fund’s benefit self-service portal.
    • HR Compliance Reporting and Assurance. Maintains accurate records of employee benefit elections; generates reports for internal use or audit processes as necessary.
    • Managing Employee Life-Cycle Events. Maintains employee information in ADP Workforce Now.
    • Customer/Client Service. Provides exceptional customer service to the Fund’s internal and external clients by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring clear communication and support across departments.
    • Cultural Competency.
