    Description

    In close partnership with the Executive Director of Business Development and Strategy and Director of Development Operations, the Donor Engagement Manager will provide critical support for best-in-class stewardship and cultivation of donors. This is a unique opportunity to join the PGP during an exciting period of rapid growth.

    The Donor Engagement Manager reports to the Director of Development Operations and is responsible for providing development and operational support to help the PGP meet its annual revenue target of $3.8 million. This position supports a comprehensive development and events program for the PGP’s donor base. Responsibilities include research, planning, and implementing engagement activities, CRM and data management, acknowledgment processes, and assisting with the thoughtful stewardship of donors through recognition, engagement, and fundraising events.

    The role is remote but will require travel to partner sites, donor meetings, and quarterly team meetings at our main offices in Princeton, NJ. Candidates must be based in the tri-state area and able and willing to travel up to 10% for events and to meet new or existing donors.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the Director, Development Operations to manage the full range of donor development activities to engage donors, maximize retention, and increase overall giving;
    • Engage with current and prospective individual donors to foster support, enhance retention, address inquiries, resolve issues, and build meaningful connections;
    • Support the ED to cultivate relationships with high-level donors through personalized outreach, gifts and recognition strategies;
    • Manage CRM databases and ensure data integrity;
    • Process incoming donations and acknowledgments;
    • Reconcile monthly donation revenue with the finance team;
    • Produce fundraising reports and conduct related analysis;
    • Conduct donor research on existing and new potential donors;
    • Develop and test new approaches and innovative concepts for donor engagement and cultivation including building the PGP alumni network;
    • Leverage digital fundraising and engagement initiatives to acquire, renew and retain members;
    • Actively maintain a current body of knowledge about the PGP’s programs, pilots, and development priorities;
    • Ensure campaign and event materials and messaging align with PGP’s mission and resonate with donors.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

    Any combination of professional experience, volunteer work, and other transferable skills may be applied toward these qualifications.

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in donor engagement and cultivation, nonprofit fundraising, and event management;
    • Highly effective in communication with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;
    • Must have good judgment and the ability to handle confidential matters.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, while ensuring acute attention to detail and accuracy;
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Calendar, and donor management software;
    • Enthusiasm for learning new skills;
    • Ability to work in our open, collaborative, and team-oriented culture;
