Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., is a non-profit law firm which provides community education and legal representation to immigrant adults, families, unaccompanied minors, individuals with mental health issues, and in cases involving crimmigration. Esperanza has proudly provided legal services to immigrants and their families in Southern California for over 15 years. More information is available at www.esperanza-la.org.
Esperanza seeks a full-time Release Services Case Manager to work in our Representation Program, specifically with the National Qualified Representative Program (NQRP), pursuant to the Franco-Gonzales v. Holder class action. Under this program, Esperanza provides services to individuals with mental disabilities who are facing deportation and are unable to represent themselves in court. The Release Services Case Manager will assist the Representation Program for adults with mental illness. Under the supervision of a Managing Attorney or a Case Management Supervisor, the Release Services Case Manager will create post-release plans and implement linkage and individual rehabilitation services to clients who have been found to be mentally incompetent by an Immigration Judge. The Release Services Case Manager will work closely with program attorneys to create placement plans, advocate for services, link clients to community-based resources and ensure that placement goals are being met after release from detention. The Release Services Case Manager will also conduct outreach services to promote agency services.
