    Description

    The National Committee seeks a highly motivated candidate to support a variety of Track II Dialogues, public programs, and other initiatives.

    The major focus of NCUSCR’s Track II Dialogues is to foster ongoing dialogue and maintain cooperation on critical issues in U.S.-China relations. These discussions feature experts from the U.S. and China on topics such as climate finance, healthcare, economics, the digital economy, maritime issues, and the rule of law & human rights. In addition, this position is part of the team that develops and implements NCUSCR’s public outreach programs that span of variety of areas to provide balanced information on Sino-American relations.

    Key Functions

    • Provide administrative, logistical, and programmatic support for six Track II Dialogues and a variety of other programs
    • Assist with onsite coordination at larger programs, events, and meetings as needed

    Responsibilities

    • Organize and provide on-site support for in-person events in the United States, China, and remotely
    • Coordinate travel and logistics for in-person programs; manage Zoom meetings and webinars for remote programs
    • Lead weekly internal staff meetings
    • Manage efficient program timelines
    • Set up and manage registration systems and invitations for events and programs
    • Organize and prepare electronic and printed materials for programs
    • Build partnerships with key individuals in the U.S.-China relationship
    • Secure price estimates and develop/track budgets for in-person programs
    • Design and implement new public outreach programs
    • Coordinate program participant invoicing and expense reimbursements

    Qualifications

    • Highly organized, detailed oriented, with strong time-management skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively
    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Experience living and working in China is preferred
    • Proficiency in Mandarin
    • Grant-writing and program evaluation skills are a strong asset
    • Willingness to travel domestically and abroad

    Requirements

    • U.S. citizenship or work authorization required
    • B.A. required; M.A. in relevant field preferred
    • Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the NYC office; 2 days remote
    • Some evening and weekend work required
    • Broad-based knowledge of China

    Program Associate: Up to two years’ work experience (internships apply)

    Senior Program Associate: Minimum of two years of relevant experience.

    The expected annual salary range for this position is between 64,000-72,000.
