    Description

Lead Locally is currently seeking a full-time Campaign Coordinator to join our work to elect progressive champions in crucial down ballot elections for the climate movement.

Under a second Trump administration, cities and states have become all the more important in ensuring the country rapidly and equitably transitions to clean energy. We believe states and cities can lead on climate and clean energy policy, can build the Green New Deal from the grassroots up – and can play a critical role in standing up for racial justice, immigrant rights, and an economy that works for all of us. We work with partner organizations from across the country and rely on electoral research to recruit candidates and run strategic down ballot campaigns. We’ve helped hundreds of climate leaders win elections at the city, county, and state level - and we’re just getting started!

2025 presents critical opportunities to elect climate leaders locally - and the potential to ensure the resistance to the presidential administration is funneled into electing strong progressive champions. We’re excited to bring this role into our small but growing team to scale up our organizing and research work.

    Responsibilities:

    • Help manage distributed organizing campaigns to register voters and GOTV for priority down ballot races through distributed phone and text banks
    • Work with Campaign Director to decide Lead Locally’s political targeting which includes: coordinating with state and local partners on priority candidate targeting, communicating the importance of down ballot races to climate action, and researching prospective candidates
    • Facilitate Lead Locally’s biannual Run for Climate series (a training for downballot climate candidates) which includes helping: plan agenda, draft and edit training materials, and facilitate trainings
    • Help manage contracted organizing support for critical down ballot campaigns
    • Track volunteer data and metrics to measure campaign impact

    Experience

    • Experience coaching or organizing campaign volunteers
    • Experience on an electoral campaign
    • Experience with distributed organizing models, and managing volunteers remotely over digital tools like Slack, relational organizing tools, etc
    • Familiarity with text and phone bank tools like Scale to Win, Spoke, GetThru
    • Familiarity with voter file tools like VAN
    • Strong writing, copy editing skills
    • Strong communication skills and excitement to work on a small but dynamic team
    • Passion for the climate movement and helping elect real climate leaders!
