    About the Role: AHI is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to develop and execute strategic communications that amplify AHI’s impact and drive engagement. This role will focus on brand awareness, donor engagement, and fundraising efforts through social media, email marketing, website management, and thought leadership content.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Communications & Messaging

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with AHI’s mission and strategic goals.
    • Work with senior leadership to craft impactful messaging that promotes AHI’s platform, intellectual property, and expertise.
    • Identify and repurpose AHI’s existing research, reports, and materials into engaging external content.
    • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership and Operations Manager to design and track impact measurement for communications purposes.

    Content Development & Digital Engagement

    • Develop marketing campaigns that align with AHI’s key initiatives, including 2 annual fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies.
    • Plan and coordinate webinars, events, and quarterly reports to highlight AHI’s work to a global audience.
    • Oversee and update AHI’s website to ensure content is fresh, engaging, and aligned with key messaging.
    • Manage and grow AHI’s social media presence (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube) with consistent, meaningful content.
    • Explore and implement tools and software to enhance marketing and communications efficiency.

    Fundraising & Outreach

    • Support fundraising efforts by crafting compelling donor messaging and engagement materials.
    • Assist in donor stewardship, tracking contributions, and executing targeted campaigns.
    • Maintain and update donor contacts and outreach.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    We don’t expect candidates to have every skill listed, but a strong mix of these is preferred

    • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or related fields.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Passion for affordable housing, social impact, or urban development.
    • Experience with social media management, email marketing (Mailchimp), and website platforms (WordPress).
    • Strong design skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Figma.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both collaboratively and independently.
    • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.

    Bonus Skills & Attributes:

    As with the previous set, the more the better.

    • Curious, collaborative and eager to learn and grow.
    • Experience in nonprofit marketing or fundraising.
    • Familiarity with housing policy, international development, or social impact work.
    • Fluency in an additional language beyond English.

    Position Details

    • Full-time, hybrid position with a mix of remote and in-office work in Boston, MA.
    • Salary: $55,000 to $60,000
    • Benefits are competitive and include medical, dental, retirement, PTO, travel allowance, plus more.
    • Some travel may be required for events or organizational activities.
