    Description

    Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides home delivered medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other life challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

    Food & Friends seeks a Program Database Administrator to maintain two databases and coordinate outcomes reporting. Reporting to the Systems and Data Operations Director, the Administrator will:

    • Oversee management of Client Track and Volunteer Hub databases including systems configurations, database maintenance, data integrity, and staff training;
    • Develop, communicate, and enforce policies for data input;
    • Serve as primary point of contact for database vendors;
    • Collect, analyze, and report on all outcomes data for the organization, including data visualization and dashboard creation;
    • Create complex database queries and exports; run various recurring and one-time reports as needed; develop and prepare all data driven reports for programmatic departments; and
    • Utilize survey development programs (e.g. Qualtrics, Microsoft forms) to design and implement appropriate survey tools for the organization.

    This is an outstanding opportunity for a data-driven professional to make a solid contribution to one of the region’s leading nonprofit organizations. Must be willing to work in a traditional office environment.

    The successful candidate will have a BA/BS and at least three years of database experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Requires advanced experience with relational data systems, including configurations, routine maintenance, and data integrity analysis. Knowledge of business intelligence and data visualization software required; Microsoft PowerBI a plus. Additional requirements include knowledge of intermediate statistics for business reporting, ability to generate complex database queries for reporting, excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to train others on database usage, and ability to craft compelling reports and visuals using data gleaned from databases.     The Program Database Administrator position pays in the range of $74,000 to $77,000. Benefits include medical, dental, disability, retirement plan, paid maternity/paternity leave, weekly short Fridays, and three weeks of paid leave for new hires.
