    Description

    Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Director of Resource Development ensures that the Cool Girls’ fundraising strategy is properly executed, and that the annual revenue goals are met. This position involves cultivating and securing support from a variety of funding sources, managing donor relationships, and overseeing fundraising events, all in support of the nonprofit’s mission to empower girls in Metro Atlanta.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fundraising Strategy & Execution:

    • Lead the development and execution of an annual fundraising plan.
    • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and other funding sources.
    • Grow individual giving to represent at least 25% of total revenue.
    • Secure at least one new multi-year grant and maintain current grant relationships.
    • Lead the planning and execution of two (2) major fundraising events annually.

    Donor Cultivation & Database Management:

    • Create and execute a comprehensive strategy to grow and sustain a large base of annual individual donors.
    • Oversee the implementation and management of the Etapestry donor database system to track and manage donor engagement.
    • Lead the coordination and execution of all fundraising initiatives.

    Grant Writing & Reporting:

    • Develop, track, and manage proposals and reports for foundation and corporate grants.
    • Work closely with the Program Director, and Executive Director to obtain programmatic outcomes data required by funders.

    Event Planning & Management:

    • Lead the coordination of all fundraising initiatives and events throughout the year.
    • Supervise the planning and execution of Cool Girls’ annual Hot Pink Party, working with external contractors to ensure event success.

    Committee & Collaboration:

    • Provide logistical support for Resource Development Committee meetings, including documentation and reporting.
    • Actively collaborate with internal teams to align development efforts with programmatic goals.
    • Participate in weekend field trips and other organizational activities as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.

    Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fundraising or marketing within nonprofit sector

    Skills/Knowledge Required:

    • Knowledge of donor cultivation strategies and best practices in nonprofit fundraising.
    • Knowledge of grant writing and reporting requirements. Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to diverse audiences.
    • Familiarity with donor database systems (Etapestry preferred).
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, Board members, volunteers, community groups, and other related agencies.
    • Supervisory experience and the ability to manage external contractors effectively.

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Flexibility, tact, and strong interpersonal skills when working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

    Responsible for maintaining oral and written communication with Executive Director, staff and donors for the purpose of exchange of information, to provide progress reports regarding activities and planned programs, and to coordinate activities. Maintain oral and written contact with other agencies, business leaders, community groups, board of directors of such organizations and the media for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas and for fundraising.

    Compensation:

    This position offers a competitive starting salary of $85,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The role is a hybrid, allowing for a flexible work environment that combines both remote and in-office work.
