    Description

    Everytown for Gun Safety is seeking a passionate, thoughtful, and creative Web Content Intern to join our Web team for the summer. This role will contribute to the organization’s goals by creating web content and assisting in maintenance of major web products across our vast portfolio of websites, including Everytown, Moms Demand Action, and Students Demand Action.

    Applications will be considered until the position is filled. This paid internship will run through the summer, and is limited to 20 hours per week. The start and end dates are flexible. This is not a web developer role.

    In this role you will:

    • Create new content to support Everytown’s web platforms, including advocacy, research, and field initiatives
    • Evaluate existing web content for freshness and coherence
    • Assist in website content maintenance requests
    • Attend Digital and Web team meetings and contribute to strategy and brainstorms
    • Help the Web team in managing information and projects throughout the organization
    • Assist with ad hoc tasks as needed

    In this role, you will learn:

    • How to write in different voices for different audiences across a portfolio of several websites, while maintaining brand coherence
    • How to collaborate with stakeholders across departments at a major nonprofit organization
    • How to utilize WordPress for web content management
    • How to write web content for an advocacy audience
    • How to effectively advocate for gun violence prevention as a part of the country’s biggest gun violence prevention organization
    • Opportunity to learn about analytics and SEO

    Required Qualifications:

    • Current undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates
    • are encouraged to apply
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Experience writing and editing content while following a set style guide (i.e. AP Style)
    • Solutions-oriented with a knack for creativity and a flexible attitude
    • Passion for activism and an interest in the gun violence prevention movement
    • Nice to haves: familiarity with WordPress of similar website content management systems; content entry HTML

    The minimum hourly rate for this role is $17.00p/hr
