    Description

    The Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) Agroecology Scholars Program in Research and Extension (ASPIRE) Internship is recruiting college students who are interested in sustainable agriculture and food systems.

    Internship Dates: May 19 – July 25, 2025

    The ASPIRE Internship prepares students with technical skills to meet complex food system challenges such as global climate change, food insecurity, and environmental concerns. Interns receive a $5,000 stipend, lodging, travel stipend, mentorship, access to hands-on cutting-edge research, professional development training, and an understanding of the impacts of agriculture on the environment and communities. No previous research or extension experience necessary.

    This year, we are offering two programs:

    1. ASPIRE for students enrolled in an undergraduate program at a two-year or four-year college or university across the United States. Application Deadline: February 3, 2025
    2. ASPIRE for North Carolina community college students. Application Deadline: February 10, 2025.

    CEFS is a partnership of North Carolina State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
