    Disaster Management and Emergency Planning Project Manager

    EduCARE India is currently recruiting fresh post graduates / young professionals in the field of Disaster Management and Emergency Planning (DMEP) to undertake a 1 to 2-year fellowship at our Emergency and Disaster Management Resource Centre located in rural North India as a Project Manager. Our DMEP Programme was established in 2015 and is continually being developed; our current areas include Community Disaster Risk Reduction, Emergency Planning / Preparedness, preparing Disaster Management Plans, Hazard Mapping and Scenario Modelling, Landslide/Earthquake and Flooding Mitigation, Training and Capacity Building. These suggestions are not extensive and new project ideas are positively welcomed and encouraged by our team members. Fundamentally the DMEP programme aims to ensure the communities we work with are aware and appropriately educated on the potential risks (natural and human) that may impact their lives; so that they can be pre-prepared and respond effectively with resilience.

    Job Role:

    As a Project Manager, you are responsible for our sustainable development projects within one or more of our local locations. This role places you right in the centre of the community and experiencing first-hand grassroots-level work.

    Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

    • Academic studies and/or previous field experience in DMEP
    • Working level written and spoken English
    • Excellent project management and time management skills
    • Flexible, organised, creative, with a dedicated work ethos
    • The ability to work as part of a team and independently
    • The capacity to initiate and maintain a project with minimal resources
