    Catalyst 2030 is seeking a Community Building and Engagement Intern

    Launched at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, Catalyst 2030 is a global community of social entrepreneurs, funders and other social change innovators who believe collaborative action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time.

    Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, funders and others, Catalyst 2030 members are working toward changing systems at all levels. Cumulatively, members have already impacted the lives of millions, often with limited resources. Together, we envision the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for all.

    About the Community Building and Engagement Team

    Catalyst 2030 offers the Intern the opportunity to work with colleagues from various countries, and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation. The ideal candidate has a background in international relations / affairs, international law, international development, social sciences or similar.

    Our Community Building and Engagement team plays a vital role in fostering connection, collaboration, and a sense of belonging within our movement. We are committed to weaving meaningful relationships among members, providing engaging programs, and promoting the overall wellbeing of our community. With a strong relational approach, we support individuals, chapters, and collaborations to navigate the movement, connect with peers, and create collective impact. Joining this team means contributing to a dynamic and supportive environment where every voice matters, and together, we drive transformative change.

    You will report to the Community Building and Engagement team Coordinator

    Responsibilities

    Building the movement

    • Support the planning and implementation of engagement initiatives, at times in collaborations with regional and country chapter coordinators
    • Support the design and implementation of new and replicable engagement offerings
    • Coordinate and support internal and external workshops, events and meetings, communications via email, whatsapp or telephone
    • Support communication with members and connect them with engagement offerings
    • Create member engagement promotion materials and resources (in different languages)
    • Translate documents into different languages and assist the movement’s multilingual initiatives
    • Familiarise with Salesforce* and our processes to improve and automate member engagement tracking: Assist in managing the Salesforce database; Manage members’ information and interests in Salesforce to enhance engagement
    • Help to coordinate the needs of membership engagement working groups including organisation of meetings, drafting, editing, and preparing minutes, developing presentations and supporting the groups
    • Update and prepare overviews, membership mapping and data analysis, reports to the network using digital tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Collaborate with teams across the Catalyst Secretariat to ensure quality facilitation of members’ engagements
    • Support and report to the Community Building and Engagement Coordinator.

    *Salesforce is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) app

    Requirements and Skills

    • Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team, in a fast-paced environment and across time zones
    • An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances
    • Preference for students who have finalised or are completing academic studies.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Attention to detail and willingness to learn from experience
    • Desire to work collaboratively in a team, with a hands-on, positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges
    • Fluency in English, and preferably another UN language
    • Ability to work in a multicultural and global digital environment, with cultural sensitivity
    • Flexibility and the ability to easily adapt to new tasks and assignments that might be given at short notice

    After COVID, we adopted a distributed organisational model with the ability to hire a diverse team. This position is remote and can be carried out from most regions that have some overlap with CEST working hours (minimum of 4 hours per day with CEST).
