For our impact themes, we are currently developing standardized impact metrics for two IRIS+ themes, i. Marine Resources Conservation and Management and ii. Waste Management. For each theme, there is a rigorous process through which working groups of experts and impact investors are formed, engaged and inspired to co-create and test the metrics before they are published on IRIS+ platform.

The GIIN’s IMM team is currently looking for a Summer Associate to contribute to our workstreams, supporting development of new impact themes, engaging with investors, vendors, partner organizations and other end users and helping improve our process and platform. The Summer Associate will be able to learn how impact measurement and management tools/standards are perceived, developed and used by impact investors globally. This role will also be a great opportunity to interview global experts, impact investors, enterprises, implementing organizations as well as GIIN colleagues to learn about their theory of change, impact frameworks, challenges and best practices in IMM. Additionally, the associate will also have the opportunity to work on designing engaging content for our investors, contributing to investor engagement activities, and supporting the GIIN’s overall mission to deepen the connections in the impact investing field.

    • Contribute to an internal database of impact frameworks, standards and indicators.
    • Contribute to internal documentation of best practices and process.
    • Support the IRIS+ website redesign process which may include but is not limited to providing design feedback, editing copy, creating engaging content, and more.
    • Choose your adventure: Find or create additional projects of your choice to support with help from supervisor.
    • Support other ongoing IMM projects and strategic enhancements as needed.

Successful candidates will be aware that race, income, age, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender and gender expression, and other identities can play, and have historically played, a role in equity disparities, including within organizations. Successful candidates will be committed to continuous learning about diversity, equity, and inclusion and how to manifest these principles in the workplace.
