    About Adinkra Fellowship

    “ADINKRA ALLIANCE INSTITUTE” is a 501(c)3 dedicated to Improving the lives of black communities and minority groups and championing initiatives for development, environmental justice and equity in the United States and globally.

    We are pleased to launch the “Adinkra Fellowship,” a program that will annually bring together a select group of extraordinary leaders, aged 40 and under, from Africa and African diaspora communities, spanning a diverse range of sectors. This groundbreaking and unique fellowship is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections between Africa and its diaspora. The inaugural edition will take place in February 2026 in an African country.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Partnerships and Communications Intern to join our team. This remote position, open to candidates based in the United States, provides a unique opportunity to develop skills in stakeholder engagement, strategic communication, and partnership-building. You will play a key role in fostering relationships, enhancing Adinkra Fellowship’s visibility, and supporting impactful collaborations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Partnership Development

    • Conduct research to identify potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators.
    • Assist in drafting partnership proposals and memorandums of understanding.
    • Maintain a database of partners and track engagement efforts.
    • Support outreach efforts by scheduling and participating in virtual meetings with prospective partners.

    Communications Strategy

    • Assist in creating and implementing communication plans to increase the organization’s visibility.
    • Draft engaging content for newsletters, press releases, and donor updates.
    • Support social media campaigns by creating posts, managing accounts, and analyzing performance metrics.

    Event Coordination

    • Collaborate on the planning and execution of virtual events, webinars, and partner meetings.
    • Develop promotional materials for events and partnerships, including flyers, brochures, and social media assets.
    • Support follow-up efforts with event attendees and stakeholders.

    Brand and Media Management

    • Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all communication channels.
    • Research media opportunities and maintain a list of relevant media contacts.
    • Assist in responding to media inquiries and drafting press kits.

    Administrative Support

    • Maintain organized records of partnerships, communications, and events.
    • Prepare presentations and reports summarizing communication and partnership outcomes.

    Qualifications

    Location Requirement : Candidates must reside anywhere in the United States.

    Education: Current undergraduate/graduate student or recent graduate in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter).
    • Experience with tools such as Canva, Sendinblue, or Hootsuite is a plus.
    • Ability to research, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Familiarity with partnership-building or event coordination is an asset.
