    Description

    I Am, We Are (IAWA), an innovative educational nonprofit combatting the youth unemployment crisis by fostering a mindset of conscious entrepreneurship in youth across the globe (www.iamweareyouth.org), is seeking creative, versatile, and dedicated interns interested in playing a key role in the development of a start-up.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    Fundraising/Development Intern Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the creation, planning, and implementation of fundraising events
    • Assist on acquiring funding for IAWA 2016-2017 programming in South Africa
    • Assist on design of sustainable funding model for IAWA
    • Create and manage IAWA internal communications mechanisms (for team members, board members, sponsors, patrons, etc.)

    Communications Intern Responsibilities:

    • Assist on updating and enhancing IAWA social media (facebook, twitter, etc)
    • Act as publicity “focal point” for IAWA events (correspond with media and attendees, write press releases, take pictures, etc.)
    • Assist on establishing communications vehicles to maintain relationship with donors
    • Manage website updates

    Monitor and Evaluation Intern Responsibilities:

    • Support the development of monitoring systems and tools
    • Review and update current evaluation tools and surveys
    • Calculate, synthesize, and analyze data points for all projects
    • Other administrative and support tasks as needed by the M&E team

    Curriculum Development Intern Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Curriculum Development team with the design, development, and revision of IAWA's 2016-2017 South Africa curriculum and training materials such as lesson plans, worksheets, student content and facilitator training guides

    HOURS (TIME REQUIREMENTS): 5-10 Hours per week working remotely, with 1-2 in-person meetings per month

    COMMITMENT: 6 months, with opportunity to extend

    LOCATION: Washington, DC but most work will be done virtually
