    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Trinity Youth Program Intern will work with the Coordinator for Learning and the Children, Youth, and Family staff to support the logistics and day-to-day programming for the final two weeks of Trinity Youth Afterschool and Trinity Youth summer programming.

    Trinity is providing a substantive Career Development and Pre-Season Athletics intensive for the month of July. The Summer Youth Intern will support youth members in project-based learning, career development, and athletics. In addition to training in youth program systems and procedures such as maintaining attendance and daily schedules, the Summer Youth intern will develop skills in programming, curriculum development, logistics, community organizing, and trust-building.

    Hours Per Week: 35 hours a week | Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm) | Pay Rate: $20 an hour

    To be considered you must be a student enrolled in an undergraduate program. The Internship will run from June 2nd, 2025- August 1st, 2025.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • With the Coordinator for Learning and Trinity Youth staff, support day-to-day programming for summer career development and athletics programs.
    • Support back-end logistics and operations support for Trinity Youth summer programs
    • Support and facilitate learning opportunities in a safe and productive environment at Trinity Commons
    • Work closely with Trinity staff to support meals and snacks for youth activities
    • Assist Youth Advisors in providing supervision across summer youth activities
    • Attend and support off-campus visits and events for the Trinity Youth Summer Program
    • Support set-ups and breakdowns for summer youth programs
    • Support youth participants in resume development and career exploration

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ACTIVITIES

    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Collaborative and self-motivated; able to work in a variety of groups and circumstances
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
    • Enthusiasm for working with children and youth
    • Basic understanding of youth development principles
    • Ability to work collaboratively and on multiple tasks at once
    • Commitment to working on social justice issues
    • Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities required.

    REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS

    • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program, preferably in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (Required)
    • Previous experience in youth programming, education, or community organizing (Preferred)
    • Familiar with and comfortable talking about the Episcopal Church (Preferred)
    • Demonstrated interest in human services, social work within the public sector, youth faith formation, or community outreach.
    • Experience working with New York City youth from a variety of backgrounds in formal and informal settings.
