    About the Director of Development:

    Develops, maintains, organizes, and directs all new and ongoing donor relationships, fundraising events, all outreach events, growing organization stability by performing and leading the following duties as set forth by the Executive Leadership Team’s vision.

    The Director of Development Responsibilities Include:

    • Develops a strategic plan, approved by the Executive Leadership Team, with short- and long-range goals to meet organizational objectives, build relationships with donors, meet strategic funding and outreach objectives, while enlisting support from members of organization’s staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors.
    • Monitors all donor information and provides monthly reports (historical, annual and donor retention information) to the Executive Leadership Team.
    • Secure funding for new initiatives, to meet or exceed goals/vision set forth by the Executive Leadership Team.
    • Develops and submits grant proposals for funds from private foundations and corporations.
    • Identifies potential contributors to special project funds and ongoing operations through examination of past records and knowledge of community.
    • Plans and coordinates fund drives for capital campaign projects.
    • Assigns responsibilities for personal solicitation to members of staff, volunteer organizations, and the Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team, according to special interests or capabilities.
    • Develops public relations campaigns and materials to enhance the organization’s image and promote fundraising programs to align with visions set forth by the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
    • Organizes and implements direct mail campaigns to reach potential donors.
    • Plans and coordinates benefit events such as galas, baby bottle drives and small fundraising events.
    • Develops and implements donor transformational giving programs.
    • Organizes and implements solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
    • Informs potential donors of special needs of organization, and encourages individuals, corporations, and foundations to establish or contribute to special funds through endowments, trusts, donations of gifts-in-kind, or bequests, conferring with Board of Directors Treasurer, to establish methods of transferring funds to benefit both donors and the organization.
    • Research public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding for community service, or other projects.
    • Supervises and coordinates activities of staff and volunteers engaged in maintaining records of contributors and grants and preparing letters of appreciation to be sent to contributors.
    • Consult actively with program directors on volunteer and intern opportunities for their respective programs, events, in-clinic, and speaking engagements in Idaho and Ontario, Oregon.
    • Ensure assignment descriptions align with staff needs and are consistently formatted and posted. Lead recruitment, in-person initial interview, onboard, and provide exit management for all volunteers and interns. Successfully lead and manage volunteer appreciation events.
    • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the pro-life movement and industry competition and industry opposition in the local area.

    Faith: Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position, sexual purity, and feels called to this ministry. Agrees with and is willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and the organization's policies. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship and support to the organization’s personnel and donor base.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university
    • 5 years Donor Relations experience in Non-Profit organization
    • Demonstrated ability to increase funds year over year
