    Global Impact - Senior Accountant: Intercompany

    As a Senior Accountant: Intercompany, you’re primarily responsible for collecting, reconciling, and summarizing accounting information, entering data into different accounting software, and preparation of preliminary financial reports in an intercompany environment. Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting, including grants management, and generating financial reports.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for day-to-day management and recording of financial activity, and month-end/year-end closing processes including preparation of preliminary financial statements, and budget variance reports for assigned clients.
    • Manages intercompany transactions.
    • Supports clients with creation of and monitoring annual budgets.
    • Processes and oversees accounts payable and receivables.
    • Maintains general ledger for client related entries including:
    • Prepares reconciliations for necessary balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts, as needed.
    • Prepares day-to-day and month end close entries.
    • Grant tracking and reporting process for clients, both restricted and unrestricted.
    • Assists with management of outgoing grants including financial due diligence, and recording, tracking and generating reports for clients.
    • Reconciles monthly client credit card activity.
    • Develops and maintains an understanding of the accounting operations within each assigned client including deliverables and deadlines.
    • Provides client Board and advisory committee support as needed.
    • Tracks and maintains vendor and sub-grantee contracts and prepares required reporting.
    • Assists in preparation of our annual 990 and related tax forms (i.e.1099 forms) and audits.
    • Disburses client requests to other Finance team members as needed to manage deadlines.
    • Provides analytical support to Managing Director and Accounting Manager for special client projects (e.g., budgets, budget projections, grant proposals, etc.)
    • Able to adhere to timelines while multitasking in fast-paced environments.

    Qualifying for this role means you have a BS degree in accounting, business administration, or related field and proven experience in public accounting and non-profit accounting for 4+ years, or some equivalent combination of both. You have an in-depth understanding of non-profits (both 501 C 3 and 501 C 4) and/or grants management, and the outsourced accounting environment. You are proficient in Excel, Office 365, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, banking platforms and are known to be an excellent team member and can work across teams. NetSuite experience is a plus.

    Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for more than one year. Visa sponsorship is not available. This is a full-time position and may be fully remote, with travel to headquarters in Washington, DC for team meetings on occasion.

    The salary range is $80,000 - $85,000, depending on the experience you bring. On top of the competitive salary that we are offering, you’ll receive 16 paid holidays and 25 paid days off.
