    Position Overview

    The Choice Inc. is hiring immediately on behalf of a higher education association within the medical sector. This critical, highly visible role will lead the association's governance functions, including preparing for board meetings, maintaining board minutes and resolutions, and ensuring that board decisions are accurately implemented.

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications

    We are seeking experienced professionals with a background in association governance, including:

    • Governance and Board Support: Direct experience working with an association board or senior executives in a governance role, particularly with tasks like drafting bylaws, public policies, and operational procedures.
    • Meeting and Event Logistics: Skilled in planning and organizing meetings or events.
    • Supervisory Experience: Experience in staff management is highly preferred, though not required.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Board Support: Facilitate Board of Directors processes, including maintaining the Board Handbook and Bylaws, managing elections, and updating standard operating procedures.
    • Governance and Strategic Planning: Coordinate governance functions, prepare board meetings, draft and maintain minutes and resolutions, and align the strategic plan with the organization's goals.
    • Budget Collaboration: Work with the President, CEO, and Chief Financial Officer to meet governance-related budget goals.

    Key Details

    • Position Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placement if there’s a strong fit
    • Work Schedule: Hybrid, with in-office requirements on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays; remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Office location in downtown DC, accessible by all Metro lines.
    • Hourly Rate: $50-55/h
    • Work Hours: 35-hour work week

    The association is open to professionals with various levels of experience. Candidates without supervisory backgrounds may be considered for an administrator-level role.
