    Washington, DC (901 E) Project Overview

    The State Health Solutions aims to build data-driven partnerships between state public health and Medicaid agencies to more effectively address preventable, high-priority diseases that affect the nation's underserved populations through the development of data- informed, effective, and equitable interventions, and the incentivization of health care providers to implement those interventions. The project will conduct research activities to inform the development of a blueprint for data partnerships between state Medicaid and public health agencies, partner with select states to implement the blueprint and assess its effectiveness and outcomes and scale the partnerships to additional states.

    Position Overview The senior associate , state campaigns support the State Health Solutions ' e fforts to implement a blueprint for data partnerships between state Medicaid and public health agencies in partner states. Under the direction of the senior manager, the senior associate provides technical assistance to states, contributes to the planning and execution of stakeholder meetings and outreach, and strategizes and collaborates closely with colleagues working on related Pew initiatives. The position, based in Pew's Washington D.C. office , reports to the senior manager, State Health Solutions and will participate in Pew's core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of each week . Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country for which they are seeking employment without visa sponsorship.

    Responsibilities Foster a work environment that is diverse, equitable , inclusive, and accessible and in line with Pew and the project's related goals.

    • Support the execution of the project's strategy to implement t he blueprint for data partnerships between state Medicaid and public health agencies in 2 to 3 states .
    • Participate in state level advocacy activities to recruit state partners and facilitate the implementation of the blueprint and support management of stakeholders.
    • Provide technical assistance for state implementation of the blueprint. Technical assistance includes, for example, conducting state-specific research and policy analysis to identify barriers and facilitators to adopt Pew's blueprint, meeting with and responding to requests from state officials, conducting stakeholder outreach, and preparing and delivering presentations to effectively communicate analysis and recommendations.
    • Support the planning and execution of convenings of state experts and stakeholders in support of the state campaigns for blueprint implementation.
    • Collaborate with program , government relations, legal affairs, communications, research support, event services, and other colleagues to advance goals of the project and help ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
    • Participate in activities that support program and Pew-wide objectives .

    Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required .

    • Generally, four years of experience in state health policy .
    • Demonstrated time and project management skills, including meeting multiple deadlines by maintaining a high-level of organization and experience establishing a systematic course of action and coordination with external partners and consultants to ensure project completion.
    • Experience working with state - level stakeholders and providing technical assistance to state government agenc ie s .
    • Demonstrated policy analysis skills, including experience synthesizing complex information and identify ing themes and policy implications.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including demonstrated experience adapting to different writing styles and conveying complex topics to an educated lay audience .
    • Strategic and creative thinking skills , including experience adjusting to changing circumstances , remain ing attentive to details, and exercis ing sound judgment in problem-solving .
    • Excellent interper sonal skills, including experience working effectively as a member of a team and building relationships with individuals and organizations with a range of perspectives and positions.

    Travel This position requires up to 25% domestic travel for meetings and conferences.

    Salary Range$79,900 USD - $89,300 USDThe salary range represents a reasonable estimate of the annual salary based on Pew's commitment to provide equitable and market-competitive pay. The actual salary offered will take into consideration many factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills and experience, internal pay equity, and business need.
