    Program/Fellowship Description

    Leveraging 60 years of deep relationships with the diplomatic community, the Meridian Center for Diplomatic Engagement convenes programs across borders, parties and industries enabling participants to connect in intimate settings with top officials and policymakers, dive deeply into issues, understand how Washington works and strengthen peer-to-peer relationships. It is a hub for policy symposia, panel discussions, fireside chats with senior Administration officials and Members of Congress, salon dinners and workshops.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the MCDE team in the implementation and execution of the slate of convening programs
    • Manage audience/attendee outreach and engagement for monthly programs – research potential attendees, disseminate invitations, track RSVPs, issue reminders and extend thank you letters
    • Prepare internal and external briefings and program materials
    • Research issues, organizations and leaders as related to the slate of programs
    • Assist with enrichment and maintenance of Salesforce (CRM) database
    • Contribute written content and curate photo galleries of events for Meridian's blog, social media platforms and website
    • Assist with staffing other Meridian events as needed
    • Completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner
    • Participate in Fellowship cohort activities
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    The ideal candidate will be:

    An undergraduate student in international studies or a related field, or the equivalent in experience

    • A highly motivated self-starter with superb organizational and time management skills, high attention to detail, and a willingness to learn
    • A team player with the ability to follow through on long-term projects and to work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong intercultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world

    In addition to a resume and cover letter, please submit a 2-3 page writing sample

    Applicants are required to:

    • Commit 24-29 hours per week to the fellowship
    • Be able to work in-person at Meridian, as needed
    • Be fluent in verbal and written English
    • Be proficient in the MS Office Suite
    • Have a residence in the DC, MD, or VA for duration of fellowship
